Mohammad praises Sudan’s stand

Lauds the Sudanese armed forces for their role in Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, praised Sudan’s stand under the leadership of Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir and its role in the Saudi-led Arab coalition under Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.

Shaikh Mohammad made the remarks as he received Al Bashir yesterday at Al Bahar Palace. He lauded the performanc­e of the Sudanese armed forces in the ground battles alongside the Arab Coalition forces to support the legitimate government in Yemen.

“Empowered with determinat­ion and strong will, the Sudan forces are on the frontlines along with our Emirati soldiers,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

He said that the current and future generation­s would remember Sudan’s honourable stand. Shaikh Mohammad commended Al Bashir on his supportive stance and referred to the military expertise he provided to the UAE Armed Forces when he spent a period of his life in the UAE during the early stages of nation-building.

“On behalf of our citizens, we pay a rich tribute and extend our sincere thanks to Omar Al Bashir, renewing our pride in his honourable stance against foreign interventi­ons that aim at changing the region’s identity and dividing it,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

The Sudanese President expressed his profound appreciati­on of the UAE leadership and people. Al Bashir also expressed his pleasure with being honoured with the Zayed Medal First Class. - WAM
