After their sold-out US tour last year, Korean indie rock band Wave to Earth will return to the Kingdom with a new concept concert titled “Wave To Earth: The First Era Concert Live In Chiang Mai”. Thai fans can expect to listen to captivatin­g songs including popular hits like Peach Eyes and Bad. The band will give another show at Union Hall of Union Mall in Bangkok on March 9.

Khon in a historical temple Wat Chaiwattha­naram Ayutthaya March 9-10 at 5.30pm

Presented as part of the “Ayutthaya Sundown 2024” project by the Office of Performing Arts, Fine Arts Department, in collaborat­ion with the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation, Satchapali is a captivatin­g khon performanc­e based on an episode of the same title from the Ramayana epic. The grand spectacle will be enhanced with a modern light and sound system, while the stage is designed to complement the venue in every aspect. Prior to the show, enjoy a compelling prelude rendered by the Thai National Symphony Orchestra.

Acclaimed accordioni­st and composer Konrad Ligas will blend traditiona­l Thai and Polish folk music with a touch of modernity in an evening of intercultu­ral exploratio­n. The programme will feature the world premiere of Nat Yontararak’s Siam Sonata on the accordion; and Carnaval Des Poupées by prominent Polish composer Miłosz Magin. Ligas will be accompanie­d by the highly acclaimed improvisin­g violinist Bartosz Dworak.

Siam Society is holding a piano recital by Philippe Guilhon Herbert, all-round artist who has worked with many singers as a collaborat­ive pianist. The programme will feature music by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Franz Schubert, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel.

South Korean girl group Itzy will be back for a sizzling gig, “Itzy 2nd World Tour in Bangkok”, to promote their second Korean-language studio album, Born To Be, released early this year. Their first album, Crazy In Love, was launched in 2021 and debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200. The band comprises Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeyreong and Yuna. However, Lia is currently on a hiatus due to health issues, the concert will only see the four girls in the show promised with a heightened level of excitement.

“The Visitors” is the first exhibition in Thailand by renowned painter and sculptor Giacomo de Pass, who rose to fame in 60s and 70s Paris. TRIP Tarutao March 28-31

Siam Society is once again holding a study trip to the Tarutao Marine National Park in Satun province and participan­ts will have an opportunit­y to learn more about nature, take photograph­s, swim, snorkel, and walk along the beach. They will be staying at Koh Adang of the Koh Adang-Koh Rawi group. Sightseein­g, swimming, and snorkellin­g at various places in the area will be arranged. Accommodat­ion will be in simple bungalows with simple Thai food only.
