After their sold-out US tour last year, Korean indie rock band Wave to Earth will return to the Kingdom with a new concept concert titled “Wave To Earth: The First Era Concert Live In Chiang Mai”. Thai fans can expect to listen to captivating songs including popular hits like Peach Eyes and Bad. The band will give another show at Union Hall of Union Mall in Bangkok on March 9.

Khon in a historical temple Wat Chaiwatthanaram Ayutthaya March 9-10 at 5.30pm
Presented as part of the “Ayutthaya Sundown 2024” project by the Office of Performing Arts, Fine Arts Department, in collaboration with the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation, Satchapali is a captivating khon performance based on an episode of the same title from the Ramayana epic. The grand spectacle will be enhanced with a modern light and sound system, while the stage is designed to complement the venue in every aspect. Prior to the show, enjoy a compelling prelude rendered by the Thai National Symphony Orchestra.

Acclaimed accordionist and composer Konrad Ligas will blend traditional Thai and Polish folk music with a touch of modernity in an evening of intercultural exploration. The programme will feature the world premiere of Nat Yontararak’s Siam Sonata on the accordion; and Carnaval Des Poupées by prominent Polish composer Miłosz Magin. Ligas will be accompanied by the highly acclaimed improvising violinist Bartosz Dworak.

“The Visitors” is the first exhibition in Thailand by renowned painter and sculptor Giacomo de Pass, who rose to fame in 60s and 70s Paris. The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand is holding a book launch for Cultural Wisdom For Climate Action: Learning From Southeast Asia, which was published by Seacha and Siam Society. The book is the product of Seacha’a Jan 2023 conference which highlighted the ways in which Southeast Asian culture can serve as a basis for climate change action. The book launch will feature a panel discussion from four of the book’s authors — Chris Baker, Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Kamorichan Osthananda, and Suwichan Phattanaphraiwan. TRIP Tarutao March 28-31
Siam Society is once again holding a study trip to the Tarutao Marine National Park in Satun province and participants will have an opportunity to learn more about nature, take photographs, swim, snorkel, and walk along the beach. They will be staying at Koh Adang of the Koh Adang-Koh Rawi group. Sightseeing, swimming, and snorkelling at various places in the area will be arranged. Accommodation will be in simple bungalows with simple Thai food only.
