Thailand-based global hospitality company Dusit International has signed a management agreement with the Al Majed Group to operate Dusit Doha Hotel in Qatar, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2018.

This development will be the group’s first Dusit-branded property in Qatar.

The five-star property will comprise 261 guest rooms and suites, along with 96 hotel apartments.

“Qatar is set to host two of the world’s largest sporting events — Fifa World Cup 2022, which will host more than 1 million international visitors, and the World Athletic Championship in 2019, which is a good opportunity to open Dusit Doha Hotel to welcome the organisers, sponsors, and consultants who will be making Doha their home for the next few years,” said Ahmed Mahdi al-Majed, chairman of Al Majed Group. “Dusit, being the first five-star Thai hotel in Qatar, will offer a Thai experience to valuable customers.

“Al Majed Group has an excellent longterm relationship with Dusit International and firmly believes in Dusit’s product quality and high standards of service. We look forward to yet another successful collaboration with them.”

“This is an exciting time for Qatar and Dusit Doha Hotel, our second property with the Al Majed Group,” said Suphajee Suthumpun, group chief executive of Dusit International. “The hotel will be designed with the latest developments in the vibrant city in mind, to resonate with both business and leisure travellers alike.”

With 27 properties operating across four brands in eight countries, Dusit International is in a significant growth phase that will see the number of Dusit properties reach over 50 within the next 3-4 years across key markets worldwide.
