Dishes of various cuisine, with highlights such as Spanish suckling pig and prime tomahawk beef to Chinese xiao long boa soup-filled dumplings, are crafted by master chefs and prepared upon order. The buffet is priced at 1,800 baht per person for food only. Beverage packages are priced at 99 baht for free-flow soft drinks, juices and iced teas; 499 baht with an addition of freeflow beers; and 950 baht with additional free-flow beer, house wine and cocktails. Children ages 7-to-11 pay half price.

Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok (02-620-6666) March: Scalini restaurant highlights Japanese guest chef Masanori Tezuka, to blend a Japanese cooking flair to the Italian cuisine. Special à la carte dinner menu is presented under the theme “Japanese-Italian Culinary Love Affair”. Dishes include hamachi carpaccio, spicy shrimp linguine, violet potato ravioli, Hokkaido scallops with shrimp, seared wagyu beef tenderloin and the chef’s signature Matsunaga wagyu beef with Mizunara whisky. Prices range from 410 baht to 2,700 baht per dish.

JW Marriott Bangkok (02-656-7700) March 17-31: Marriott Café internatio­nal buffet restaurant features dishes by visiting Italian chef Daniele Treravo, a native of Piedmont, Italy. Menu options are Sicilian lamb shank, porchetta (stuffed suckling pig), southern Italian style seafood salad, honey-peroni beer pork ribs and Sicilian ricotta cake. The Italian promotion dinner buffet is priced at 1,690 baht per person for (Sun-Thur) and 1,990 baht per person on (Fri and Sat).

Landmark Bangkok (02-254-0404) March: Rib Room & Bar Steakhouse recommends Entrecôte Lyonnaise, a sublime steak prepared by French chef in Lyonnaise style. Featured item is a 270-day, Australian grain-fed beef (choices include rib-eye, tenderloin and sirloin) served with sautéed onion and potatoes.

March: Coco’s Cafe hosts a weekend internatio­nal buffet featuring Indian, Chinese, Western and Japanese cuisines from live-cooking stations. Price is 950 baht net per person.

March: Tapas Y Vino recommends a large assortment platter of regional Spanish delicacies on a one-meter-long wooden board ideal for sharing by up to four diners. March: Basil Thai restaurant features a new collection of set menus, featuring authentic flavours of Thailand’s four distinct regions. Expect to find the likes of spicy herbal pork sausage from the North, sweet and sour papaya salad with grilled chicken from the Northeast, roasted duck in red curry with apple and basil from the Central Plains and spicy snapper soup with turmeric and herbs from the South. Prices start at 1,600 baht per person.

March: Every Friday and Saturday, Voila internatio­nal restaurant features a prime selection of fresh imported seafood in its buffet line. March: Xin Tian Di Chinese restaurant presents special à la carte menu prepared with lamb. Available for lunch and dinner, highlights include grilled shoulder of lamb with Hong Kong-style BBQ sauce; wok-fried Osmanthus-infused lamb with wild mushroom; and slow-braised Cantonese-style lamb stew. Prices start from 380 baht per dish.

Dusit Thani Bangkok (02-200-9000) March: Thien Duong Vietnamese restaurant features fresh spring rolls. Featured items such as mixed fruit spring rolls with avocado sauce; fresh spring rolls with crispy catfish; and deep-fried spring rolls with duck breast. Prices start from 330 baht per dish. Benjarong Thai restaurant features dishes prepared with osso buco beef, including hanglay curry with slowcooked osso buco with cinnamon-flavoured mashed purple potato; and osso buco with black pepper sauce. Menu highlights include poached lobster with Granny Smith apple and celeriac remoulade; pan-seared foie gras with poached Passe Crassane pear in red wine; carpaccio sea bream with Royal Gala apple jelly and tartar; pork tenderloin with caramelise­d Belchard apple, Calvados and almond crumble; duck breast with pan-seared Conference pear, honey and Sichuan pepper; and snow fish with Comice pear scales and a salted butter purée.

Royal Orchid Sheraton (02-266-9214) March: Thara Thong presents a “curry and spice” dinner set menu at 550 baht per set. Featured dishes are BBQ pork curry with cha plu leaves, deep-fried fillet snapper with sweet and sour chilli sauce, deep-fried prawns with black pepper sauce, and spicy chicken in southern style curry. Giorgio’s Italian restaurant recommends pizza combo sets. The small

set, priced at 499 baht, consists of a pizza and two choices of appetisers. The party set, priced 799 baht, consists of two pizzas and four appetisers.

Shangri-La Bangkok (02-236-7777) March: Every Thursday, Salathip Thai restaurant presents night market-themed set dinner. Various choice of all-you-caneat starters, such as tom yum seafood, chicken satay, charcoal-grilled pork neck, green papaya salad and mango sticky rice, can be found from a line-up of live cooking stations with the Chao Phraya River as a background. While main courses are served at the table. The dinner, enlivened by a Thai classical music performanc­e, is priced at 1,888 baht per person.

Okura Prestige Bangkok (02-687-9000) Until March 5: Yamazato Japanese restaurant presents special menus to celebrate Japan’s annual Hinamatsur­i Girls’ festival. Dishes include three-coloured sesame tofu with sea snail, broad beans and white asparagus; sashimi of tuna, ark shell and sakura sea bream; and scallops with eggplant and sakura shrimp.

Plaza Athenee Bangkok (02-650-8800) Until March 18: The Reflexions features an à la carte menu prepared with black winter truffle such as roasted scallops with cauliflowe­r, raisins, raw almonds and truffle vinaigrett­e; potato soup with black truffle, chive, poached quail egg, ravioli beef stew and duck liver; and wagyu strip loin with onion, bone marrow, beef cheek, endive and red wine sauce. Prices start at 550 baht per dish.

U Sathorn Bangkok (02-119-4804) March: J’aime contempora­ry French restaurant presents new menu combining tropical vegetables, herbs and spices with world-class ingredient­s. Featured dishes include beef tartare with Mediterran­ean vegetables, herbs and marinated lemon; Brittany sardine terrine with marinated cucumber and miso gelée; heart of cod served with Yanagi Matsutake mushrooms, sea snails and pea hummus; panseared Kamui beef fillet served with porcini and walnut purée and olive-scented whole-grain mustard; grilled duck foie gras with endives, sweetcorn and grapefruit and smoked tea consommé. A set of tasting menu is priced at 2,399 baht net for five courses, 3,399 baht net for seven courses or 4,199 baht net for 10 courses.

InterConti­nental Bangkok (02-656-0444) March: Summer Palace Cantonese restaurant recommends its all-time best-selling Peking duck. After the skin is neatly sliced beside the guest table, the duck meat is cooked in Thai or Hong Kong style. Choose from deep-frying with garlic pepper sauce, wok-frying with black pepper sauce and onion and sautéing with ginger and spring onion. Each Peking duck is priced at 1,390 baht.

March: Babette’s the Steakhouse introduces new surf ’n’ turf menu. Featured dishes include Australian beef tenderloin with pan-seared Hokkaido scallops, crispy pancetta and green asparagus; roasted pork fillet and grilled black tiger prawns with potato chips, spring onions creamy garlic sauce; slow-cooked crispy pork belly with Alaskan king crab legs, braised bok choy and pepperonat­a salsa; grilled striploin steak with Canadian lobster and clarified butter; and pancetta-wrapped monkfish served on saffron risotto with caviar and squid ink foam. The buffet is priced at 1,890 baht per person and is served with house wine selection.

Vie Hotel Bangkok (02-309-3939) March: La Vie Creative French Cuisine presents a three-course set menu with poulard de Bresse, considered one of the best chickens in the world, as the highlight. The set, priced at 1,200 baht net per person, includes Bresse chicken two ways with Perigord truffle, caramelise­d onion and winter medley; cream of Jerusalem artichoke soup with thyme essence; and chocolate parfait with chestnut, blackcurra­nt and pear sorbet.

Siam Kempinski Bangkok (02-162-9000) March: Brasserie Europa features English butcher BBQ items in its Friday internatio­nal buffet dinner. Selections range from prime meats and shellfish to be prepared à la minute. The English-styled dishes are offered among regular American, Australian and Argentinia­n prime cuts as well as a selection of chilled seafood. The Friday buffet dinner is priced at 2,200 baht per person including free-flow non-alcoholic beverages.

March: Patummat internatio­nal buffet restaurant highlights all-you-can eat oysters promotion. Priced at 1,300 baht net per person, the buffet features approximat­ely 10 kinds of oyster sourced from US’s Palm Cove, France’s Fine de Normadie and Fine de Claire, Japan’s Kumamoto and Miyagi, South Australia’s Coffin Bay and Smokey Bay and Ireland’s Carlingfor­d Lough, to name a few. The oysters are offered shucked upon order, or as warm classic dishes such as Rockefelle­r, Thermidor, Motoyaki and Bienville.

Piccolo Italian restaurant recommends a variety of seafood and pasta dishes such as grilled scallop with orange sauce; fettuccine and prawn parcels; crepe lasagna seafood; and pizza with smoked salmon with mascarpone cheese.

March: Don Giovanni Italian restaurant features Siberian sturgeon caviar that can be paired with pappardell­e pasta, or sautéed with butter and rosemary, or served with pan-fried halibut fillet with pumpkin and asparagus.

Swissôtel Le Concorde (02-694-2222) March: Loong Foong offers Chinese business lunch sets. The two options, priced at 490 baht per person (including free-flow tea and chrysanthe­mum cordial), consists of three baskets of dim sums, a choice of soup, and a main course. Choose from the likes of wok-fried prawn with XO sauce, roasted duck, barbecued pork with and fried rice noodles with seafood. The lunch concludes with a Chinese dessert.

Miracle Grand Convention (02-575-5599) March: Edo Japanese restaurant offers a variety of all-you-can-eat feast, boasting the likes of sashimi, tempura, shabu shabu and sukiyaki hotpot, sushi, seafood teppanyaki, and kurobuta tonkatsu at 590 baht net for lunch and 690 baht net for dinner. Á la carte menu also is available such as Kobe beef steak, Australian sirloin steak, Japanese kurobuta steak and grilled unagi kabayaki are also available.

Montien Riverside (02-292-2999) March: Sai-Chol restaurant recommends deep-fried fish fillet with fresh herbs in crispy taro cup at 220 baht per dish.

The Peninsula Bangkok (02-020-2888) March: Every Wednesday, the River Café & Terrace features an extensive selection of internatio­nal seafood specialiti­es in its dinner buffet. Highlights include barbecued fresh tiger prawns, chargrille­d farmed sea bass, salmon and freshly -shucked oysters. Price is 1,800 baht per person, or 2,300 baht per person with an addition of charcoal-grilled live Boston lobster.

BEYOND BANGKOK

Centara Grand Mirage Beach Pattaya (038-714-981)

March: Acqua presents dishes prepared with Italian poultry. Featured menu items include guinea fowl breast with porcini risotto; pan-roasted baby chicken on rosemary potato and red grape, port wine sauce; and pan-roasted tender duck breast served on top of grilled polenta. Oasis restaurant recommends a variety of traditiona­l Japanese ramen noodle soups at 300 baht per dish. Featured items are shoyu ramen, tantan ramen and wonton ramen.

Dhara Dhevi Chiang Mai (053-888-888) March: Le Grand Lanna Thai restaurant recommends dishes prepared with scallops. Menu options are stir-fried scallops in spicy Thai chilli paste, spicy crispy catfish salad topped with grilled scallops, scallop fried rice and deep-fried scallops tossed with garlic and pepper. Prices start from 400 baht per dish. Kad Dhara contempora­ry Chinese restaurant features snow fish prepared in four styles such as deep frying with avocado and fruit salad; stir-frying with drizzles of XO sauce; grilling with minced pork and Chinese olive sauce, and steaming with noodles and Hong Kong soy sauce. Prices start from 850 baht per dish.

Radisson Blu Hua Hin (032-421-777) March: The Exchange restaurant features a variety of pork ribs. Options are Kansas City sweet & sticky ribs; JD ribs with Tennessee whiskey barbecue sauce; and Memphis smoked ribs, all served with Texas-styled barbecue baked beans and mashed potatoes. Prices are 320 baht for a half rack and 480 baht net for a full slab.
