MONDAY: Thammasat University in cooperation with the International Peace Foundation has invited Nobel laureate Prof Eric S Maskin to deliver the keynote address on the topic “Why Global Markets Have Failed to Reduce Inequality” at Millennium Hilton, Bangkok.

WEDNESDAY: The Economic Reporters Association holds an annual seminar entitled “2017: Thailand’s Turning Point” at Central Grand Ladprao Bangkok with key speakers including Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, permanent secretary for finance Somchai Sujjapongse, chairman of Federation of Thai Industries Chen Namchaisiri, and Supavud Saicheua , managing director of Phatra Securities. WEDNESDAY: Thailand Development Research Institute holds a seminar on social investments and the role of companies and the government to make the investment more sustainable, at Swiss Hotel Le Concord.

MONDAY: Peter Bessey, Thanachart Bank’s vice-chairman of the executive committee and deputy chief executive, launches a new application called Thanachart Connect. He will also reveal the bank’s digital banking plans at Billboard Café, Siam Discovery. TUESDAY: Booking.com makes a grand opening to its first Bangkok customer service centre, located in the South Wing, G Tower 9, on Rama 9 Road, to serve its customers in the Indochina region. THURSDAY: Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co, introduces a new model of Honda City at Pullman King Power.
EVENTS
MONDAY: Betagro Group introduces its new sport marketing campaign, Betagro Pro Golf Quality, which help young golfers to be professionals. The event, at Rajpruek Golf Club on Vibhavadi Rangsit, will reveal the six Thai golfers who are on list of the the Top 60 Asian Tour and Top 80 China-Taiwan Tour and receive support from the campaign. TUESDAY: Costa Victoria, an Italian themed cruise ship, organises a plaque exchange ceremony to mark its first time arriving at Laem Chabang port, Chon Buri. Costa Victoria will launch a number of inaugural cruises from Laem Chabang, its latest homeport, to many destinations in Southeast Asia. TUESDAY: The Industrial Promotion Department has teamed up with The Institute for Small and Medium Enterprise Development (Ismed), Thai Textile Institute and the Silpakorn University, on four projects to raise standards of industries such as textile and garment, leather and shoe, and jewellery and ornaments to meet the concept of “Thailand Fashion 4.0.” The event, will be held at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathumwan intersection.

MONDAY: The Department of Primary Industries and Mines holds a press conference on new raw material sourcing methods to supply the industry sector and on its cooperation project in the mining industry in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. WEDNESDAY: The National Food Institute, together with Thailand Knowledge Park, the Industry Ministry and the Mother & Care magazine talks about its new project — to groom young food ambassadors to promote Thai food on the international markets. The event will be held at Thai Food Heritage, in the compound of NFI in Bangkok.

MONDAY: The Federation of Thai Industries opens a training course, “Business Revolution and Innovation Network: Brain at W Hotel Bangkok as part of its programme to provide knowledge on innovation, creativity and new economic dimensions to top executives in private and public organisations. THURSDAY: The Office of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Promotion holds a course at Chaophya Park Bangkok on how to obtain food and drug certificate for cosmetics industry operators.
EVENT
SATURDAY: Science and Technology Minister Atchaka Sibunruang presides over Children’s Day at Space Inspirium, a learning centre about the universe, in Si Racha, Chon Buri province. On the same day, Central Group organises CPN Kids’ Day at CentralWorld, Bangkok and its retail chains nationwide.
