RIS celebrates 30th Anniversary

-

My school, Royal International School (RIS) proudly celebrates its 30th anniversary (1991 – 2021) this year. RIS has many success stories which were sculpted by diligence, determination and distinction. My heartfelt gratitude goes to our Founder Director, Dr. Newton Peiris and Chairperson, Madam Sandra Wanduragala.

With an initiation from about six students in 1991, our school now has about 2,700 students in 2021! And here we are with students to be proud of, and new generations that might work for justice and who will stand for the name of our school. One day I want to join a marvellous batch of successful students of RIS.

Despite the challenges thrown by the COVID-19 pandemic, our school stood tall in the face of adversities and mission of providing a nurturing environment of holistic development to her students.

Inside of my school has many memories. Behind the scenes of RIS, are the hard-working teachers, educated students and also extra curricular activities to keep us going.

After three decades, the primary and secondary sections of the school, which were in different locations came under one roof.

Within the school premises, are a swimming pool, basketball court, badminton court, an auditorium, two libraries, a fully equipped science lab and a spacious playground. With a school that started with very little facilities and started with only about about our school. To be honest it is one of the best schools in Kurunegala. Happy Anniversary RIS!
