Sri Lanka to be a research Education hub: A way forward

-

Janagan Vinayagamoorthy, International Director of EdHat International, UK and CEO / MD of IDM Nations Campus recently proposed that “Sri Lanka should be the Research Education Hub”to maintain the unity in Sri Lanka in an International Research Conference.

He stated that, “Academic research plays a crucial role in the development of the country which creates opportunities to attract foreign investment, retain local students, build a regional reputation by providing access to research and development for both international and domestic students, and create a knowledge- based economy. Academicians play an important role in achieving the Research Education hub as they are perceived as the source of knowledge that generates and motivates the society which comprises budding generation of researchers and scientists”.

Further he said that “When looking at the root cause of the Sri Lankan conflict, one issue that comes up time and time again is less opportunity for youths which leads to NO UNITY. We have to create opportunities through increasing the research & Development in Sri Lanka. Academicians should invest their time and efforts in R & D which leads to many opportunities for the young generation.

Currently the young generation of the country does not have many opportunities, which mislead them to involve in unwanted activities and ruin their career.”
