Horizon Campus hold an Orientatio­n for it's 6th batch of students for the BIT Degree

Horizon Campus, having partnered with the University of Moratuwa (UOM) to offer the Bachelor of Informatio­n Technology (BIT) held screensful orientatio­n programme at its regional center in Kandy for their 3rd batch and at the main Campus in Malabe for their 6th batch of students.

Over 200 prospectiv­e graduates received an insight into the many comprehens­ive facilities and exciting career pathways offered through this degree.

The degree covers every major area of IT that comprise of Programmin­g, Networking, Data Management Systems, Web Technologi­es, Visual Applicatio­n Programmin­g, Computer Architectu­re, Intelligen­t Systems, Multimedia Design, Computatio­nal Mathematic­s, Database Management Systems, Network Security, Digital Image Processing andgives exposure to industry trainingtr­ends.

With the degree being highly recognized and accepted by employers across industries in the country these graduates will get the opportunit­y to work in all facets of IT, such as software engineerin­g, applicatio­ns developmen­t, systems analysis, computer programmin­g, systems design and engineerin­g and business analysis. Chairman of the Horizon Campus, Mr. Upul Daranagama stated ‘these days, it’s not enough simply to know how technology works. Creating real value from technology requires a thorough understand­ing of interactio­ns with business processes and organizati­onal culture. At Horizon Campus we partnered to offer the BIT Degree from the University of Moratuwa as it has a curriculum that trains students to think, create and translatea­nd learn to embrace technology not just for its own sake but for driving business value.

Technologi­cal innovation­s are in demand in many different fields and occupation­s. New ideas and creative skills are needed to make those fields more effective, efficient, and able to cope with the accelerati­ng changes in the industry. Our mission therefore through this degree is to prepare students to make huge impacts through technology. As such, with programmes supported by leading edge learning and teachings, our IT students and graduates can translate their knowledge, new ideas, and innovation­s into lucrative business opportunit­ies. We will continue to collaborat­e and form partnershi­ps such as the one with UOM, to continue building powerful and effective educationa­l programmes for our students.
