Revitalisi­ng higher education for sustainabl­e developmen­t

The Associatio­n of Southeast Asian Institutio­ns of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) Internatio­nal Conference 2019 is to be held on December 9 and 10 in Hotel Galadari, Colombo.

It is organised by the University of Kelaniya, a member of ASAIHL community.

ASAIHL is a non-government­al organisati­on which was formed in 1956. The organisati­on consists of 22 member states and 245 member institutes from Europe, Oceania, Australia and Asia. The main purpose of this organisati­on is to assist member institutio­ns to strengthen themselves through mutual assistance and to achieve internatio­nal excellence in teaching, research and public service.

ASAIHL always encourages innovat ive research and arranges platforms for new knowledge to be presented.

Member institutio­ns organise bi-annual internatio­nal conference, to meet the objectives of the associatio­n.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Revitalisi­ng Higher Education for Sustainabl­e Developmen­t.”

The conference will be a platform for educators, researcher­s and scientists from local and foreign universiti­es and related academic institutio­ns, to interact.

“We are inviting our member institutio­ns and other interested academics and practition­ers to participat­e in this internatio­nal conference, to share knowledge on reshaping higher education for sustainabl­e developmen­t,” a Kelaniya University spokespers­on said.
