13th MCA Inter-Academy Junior Tourney from next week
The MCA Cricke t Development Committee together with the MCA Tournament Committee will conduct the 13th edition of the Inter-Academy Under-13 and Under-15 30-over Tournaments 2019 from December 7 to 21.
The tournaments are held in culmination of MCA Cricket Academy’s 17th Anniversary Celebrations. DFCC Bank has come forward to sponsor the tournament for the first time .
The 20 Academies participating in the Under- 13 segment are: MCA (three teams), SSC, NCC, CCC, SPS Rambukkana, HRCA, SNCA, Ragama, Panadura, Kirindiwela, Kingfisher, Serendib, Colombo Premier, RSACA, Homagama, Mahara SACA and Ashoka de Silva.
Twenty teams, including four newcomers will play in the Under-15 segment.
MCA (Two boys’ Teams and one girls’ team), SSC, NCC, CCC, SPS Rambukkana, HRCA, SNCA, Ragama, Panadura, Kirindiwela, Kingfisher, Serendib, Colombo Premier, Ashoka de Silva, Champ, with three new comers in CRCCA, Brendon Kuruppu,Rehan Sports CA and Swingers.
A total of 94 matches including the two finals are spread around, MCA, DSS, Mattegoda, NSCA (Ratmalana), Ananda Sasthralaya ( Kotte) and CMS (Kotte) grounds. In the 2018 finals played on December 22, 2018 at the MCA ground, CCC won the Under-13 tournament, beating MCA ‘Blue’ by 8 wickets and NCC won the Under- 15 tournament, beating Hemantha Ranasinghe CA (HRCA) by 6 wickets. The sponsorship handing over ceremony and the media conference was held on Thursday, November 28 at the MCA Fine Dining Restaurant ‘The Pitch’.
