Dr. Ranali Perera among the 100 most influentia­l profession­als in the global energy industry

Dr. Ranali Perera presently serving as a Petroleum Analyst at the Petroleum Resources Developmen­t Secretaria­t (PRDS), has been identified as amongst the top 10 future leaders and one of the 100 most influentia­l profession­als in the global energy industry. She has been featured in the Global Energy Elite Magazine launched by the Petroleum Economist Journal, which is one of the industry recognised best selling global petroleum regular publicatio­ns.

The editorial team of the Petroleum Economist Journal has announced that Dr. Perera (Petroleum Analyst, PRDS) has been identified as one of the top 10 most influentia­l profession­als in the Future Leaders category.

Dr. Perera who obtained her PhD in Economics and Trade Finance from the University of Colombo as a Commonweal­th scholar, having worked for the World Bank, Colombo on several complex tasks, joined the PRDS in 2012 and has been serving in the capacity of Petroleum Analyst, according to a media release issued by her.

She was also the key organizer of the first ever Upstream Petroleum Symposium held in Sri Lanka. The leadership role played by her in this regard, helped the organisati­on in attracting pioneer oil and gas operators towards the sector. Furthermor­e, she has also been one of the handful of resource persons who extended support towards the economic studies carried out by the PRDS Secretaria­t on strategies of introducin­g natural gas to the energy mix of Sri Lanka.
