Unwinding the Mysteries of life – Join KIU & Become a Scientist

-

Undoubtedly “human being” is the most wonderful creation of Mother Nature. The capability of a Human to adapt to the environment is remarkable and it is beyond comparison with any other species that has ever lived. I was passionate about Biology at a very young age and was fascinated by the mystery of the functioning of the human body which led me in a direction to study bio medical subjects. We can describe biomedical science as an intellectually challenging subject and it binds us with nature and keeps things interesting at all times. This makes studying a sort of a meditation. Biomedical Sciences mainly focuses on the human body, its functions, its chemical basis, alterations in the normal functions and keeping the homeostasis of the human body naturally or artificially. By understanding these deeply, we can ultimately contribute to uplift the quality of human life.

According to my personal experience, learning these things has never been a burden, or never have I dozed off during a lecture. While engaging in academic work there is more than enough time to explore other fields of interest such as music and engage in extracurricular activities. A student must never think of studying as a burden, or something that you must do in order to earn money, that may bring discomfort and stress to your life. You can make learning a hobby. That way the purpose is served and you feel happy at the end of the day. Teach what you know to a junior, teach an interesting fact or two to your parents or siblings, this way you will enjoy the fact that you know something that is very important to life and you can help others also. Reading is a rewarding habit and you are self-motivated to read more and more when you are really interested in gathering knowledge. These are some of the great things you achieve as a student of biomedical science.
