‘Adaraneeya Kathawak’ completes shooting

‘Adaraneeya Kathawak’ (A Melody of Love) a musical movie directed by Priyantha Colambage has completed its shooting with final scenes filmed at a beautiful location in Belihuloya, Balangoda recently. Most of the shooting in this fourth directorial venture of award winning filmmaker Priyantha was done in Colombo and is undergoing its postproduction at this stage.

With nine songs, the film with a tragic love story is played by a host of young and talented stars including former Miss Sri Lankan Aruni Rajapaksa, Bimal Jayakody, Udari Warnakulasuriya and Hemal Ranasinghe.

The story of a young musician couple, the film is to unravel their relationship which goes beyond an ordinary love. Abhimana Jayawardena is a young singer who is ready to help young and aspiring musicians. He comes across Piyawi a talented singer at a reality show where he is a judge. Abhimana is impressed by her talent and believes that this girl will go up to the final round. Hailing from a remote village, Piyawi aims to win the reality show is to get the prize money to spend on her ailing father. Unexpectedly she is dropped from the talent show. Everybody including Piyawi thinks that Abhimana is responsible for this but he too is confused at to why she had been dropped.

Shattered by all the dreams to win the reality show and help her father, Piyawi returns to the village. But Abhimana who comes to know that he is being misunderstood goes in search of Piyawi and this leads to a new journey in their lives but ends in tragedy.
