British Cosmetics Acadamy of Skills Development For essential education on hair & beauty offered collaborated with a leading UK hair & beauty college

-

With the economic awakening the modern fashion trend of the little island has revolutionized. Because of its strategic location Sri Lanka is now well known for its fashion statements. Fashion hair & beauty is closely interwoven, resulting in the hair and beauty industry to elevate to the same phase. There is remarkable growth in the hair dressing and beauty industry yet lacking in Standardized skilled staff to the demand is the most significant aspect.

Hair dressing & beauty industry in Sri Lanka is considered full of potential after the economical awaking concluding the 30 years of terrorism. Opening doors for highly qualified professionals to elevate in the industry is considered highly credible. Professionals are striving to gain International education, international inspirations & standards to reach this platform. British cosmetics will underpin the objectives to deliver high standard professional education locally and internationally by collaborating with international academies/institutes/colleges.

Initiating the said concept we are introducing a new scheme in cooperation with our partner university GOVER COLLEGE OF SWANSE LONDON to translate local hair dressing education to a different dimension by delivering higher professional standards & higher educational schemes on a local platform. Students enrolling to BCAOSD will be able to upscale their CITY & GUILDS qualifications according to GOWER COLLEGE standards and schemes. Delivering method of the course up to the training kit will be same as per Gower college standards. Round the clock Knowledge transferring, video conferencing, external student assessing & verifications are some of the other benefits in the pine line for BCAOSD students by Gower College. Upon graduation from BCAOSD Sri Lanka students have the direct access to enrol at GOWER COLLEGE UK for the advanced diploma & postgraduate courses which is the hallmark of the local Education. The ability to skip preliminary education will benefit in nearly 2000 pounds investment. BCAHE will give all these benefits for a very competitive course rate.

GOWER COLLEGE OF SWANSE LONDON is well established as a Centre of Excellence, which offers students a thorough grounding in all aspects of Hair, Beauty Health and Holistic Therapies. They deliver a range of courses - including Vocational Access, NVQ and Diploma levels - in a modern, professional environment with a strong commercial focus.

Need to upscale apprenticeship within the industry

Institutes are available by and large, yet the concern is whether these institutes offer required standards to underpin the professional upgrading and to continuously upgrade skills of the apprentices.

Hairdressing maestros in our country had done a great deal to the development of hairdressing, their motivation and inspiration has been flame that light the torch of hairdressing. Our industry was far more better than any of the South Asian countries during that time which is a glimpse of what our Hairdressing industry was then. Concern is whether the generation after has taken the industry to the next level on the same force that they have?

Definitely the Government has identified Hair dressing & Beauty culture as a professional qualification that requires a professional frame work which by offering Education under their guidance up to Level 4 Qualification is indeed a great forward thinking.

National Vocational education & training is very competitive with a wide variety of choices for the apprentices to choose in order to gear up their professional carrier or entrepreneurship. However currently after completing the level 4 Qualification professionals has no access to higher educational levels under the Professional Hair & Beauty category locally. Hence as any other professional Hair dressing & beauty culture is a constantl y elevat i n g p ro f e s s i o n , International knowledge transferring, adaptations from the International exposure is one the key elements when it comes to up scaling knowledge on an up to date standard.

As we are a company that is continuously in touch with the latest skills upgrades has identified that there are opportunities in upgrading current professional standards to a higher academic standards.

By offering such higher graduation levels it will systematically standardize the lower qualification levels in the future.

“This is the expectation & aspiration of British cosmetics Training and vocational institute”
