Dimuth and Kaushal put SSC on top

Dimuth Karunaratn­e and Kaushal Silva cracked tons to put SSC on top against Tamil Union on day one in their Premier league cricket encounter played at the SSC ground.

The pair was associated in an unbroken 202 runs for the third wicket helping SSC make a score of 233 for 2 just before the tea break. Dimuth was unbeaten on 115 which included 15 boundaries and a six while Kaushal remained unbeaten on 103 inclusive of 14 boundaries and a six.

Left arm pacie Vishwa Fernando ended with a impressive figure of 5 for 35 as he along with Tharanga Lakshitha and Upul Indrasiri helped Bloomfield to bundle out Colts for a paltry score of just 99 runs. Bloomfield in reply were 37 for no loss.

At the NCC ground Galle CC to were bowled out for a low score of 111. NCC were guided by openers Niroshan Dickwella and Upul Tharanga and were 97 for no loss just before the tea break.

Moors SC taking the first lease of the wicket helped by a knockoff 67 by Harsha Cooray were 147 for 4 against Panadura SC at Braybrooke Place.

A ton by Dhananjaya de Silva and half tons by Udara Jayasundar­a and Ian Daniel saw Ragama CC batting first making a score of 280 for 5 against Lankan CC at the FTZ ground in Katunayake.

Saracens SC was struggling on 109 for 5 against Army in the match which got off to a late start at Panagoda. Half tons by Amal Athulathmu- dali, Roy Silva and Hasantha Fernando saw CCC make a score of 271 for 5 at CCC ground.
