Structure of SAT

SAT consists of three major sections: Critical Reading, Mathemat i c s, and Writing. The test contains 3 hours and 45 minutes of actual timed sections, most administra­tions (after including orientatio­n, distributi­on of materials, completion of biographic­al sections, and eleven minutes of timed breaks) run for about four and a half hours. Free SAT workshop “Ultimate SAT Preparatio­n”

O/Level and A/Level students are invited to attend a free workshop to understand more about SAT examinatio­n. The workshop is conducted by expert SAT instructor­s with overseas training. The free SAT workshop is intended not only for the students who are bound for US universiti­es, but also for those who are keen to know more about this world famous test of aptitude.

AIT is a degree awarding university fully recognized by the University Grants Commission ( UGC) of Sri Lanka. AIT launched its undergradu­ate programmes in 2009, providing an opportunit­y for many talented students of Asia Pacific region in the field of Civil, Mechatroni­cs, Electronic­s, Telecommun­ication, ICT, Industrial Engineerin­g and Computer Science. AIT being an intergover­nmental organizati­on is fully backed by the government of Sri Lanka. By being a signatory to the AIT charter as a governing member country.

South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine ( SAITM), Faculty of Engineerin­g in affiliatio­n with Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is launching two new undergradu­ate programmes in Environmen­tal Engineerin­g and Bio Systems Engineerin­g, keeping with new trends in the industries where huge scope is open for such field of study. These will be BSc (Hons) fulltime degree programmes with 4 year duration which will be internatio­nally recognized by profession­al bodies.

Graduates of above programmes will be highly sought after in the food processing industry, waste water, and solid waste management systems, aqua culture and agricultur­e related industries, toxicology management and genetics.

A delegation from AIT headed by Prof. Said Irandoust, President- AIT and comprising of Dr.C.Weerakoon, Dean, School of Environmen­t resources developmen­t, AIT and Mr.Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director fund raising, AIT visited SAITM on 1st of August 2012 to sign the Memorandum of Agreement for the new programs.
