Countering Monday Blues

-

The place of dwelling and our immediate environment has a strong influence on our mind and body.

When our immediate surrounding is not very supportive, it tends to have a negative influence on our energies and consequently our actions, thoughts and response get influenced strongly.

Keeping our immediate surroundings in the home vibrant and supportive to the occupants would ensure that we respond well to any situation without being stressed or depressed.

After a weekend getting back to work on a Monday morning is a bit of a hassle for many. The feeling of stress and wishing that the weekend would be better if it was longer is something many experience. This feeling is often referred to as “Monday blues”. When the happiness and excitement of the weekend fade away, people feel unreasonably lost and empty, so they may be dispirited, lazy, inattentive or even positively resistant to work. Some people may have serious anxiety and nervousness as they contemplate the coming pressures of work.

Its quite normal to wonder why a person still feels drained after a good long weekend when he has to get back to work on a Monday morning as they have to actually feel refreshed in body and spirit. However some feel even more tired out than on Friday. The main reason could be that they have not been resting properly and have been working too hard. In some homes, they leave all the housework until Saturday and try to finish everything accumulated through the week in one day. From the Feng shui perspective accumulating a lot of clutter and mess activates negative chi and trying to handle it in a day is overwhelming.

You must give yourself a reward for all of your weekly accomplishments so your brain and spirit get a well-deserved break from work-related stress. Relax and rejuvenate by allowing yourself to sleep in, take walks in nature, going to a funny movie or enjoying a fabulous dinner with friends. Carve time out for errands but don’t spend the entire weekend accomplishing tasks

Follow your heart to achieve your dreams. With a clear mind, write down your desires and goals so you feel better about going to work on Monday to work towards them. Empower your thoughts on Sunday night that by working, you are creating the means to move towards your future dreams.

Carry some fresh flowers or aroma sticks to the workplace on a Monday morning or you can even use an aroma oil spray to charge your workspace with new energy.

Allow natural light as much as you can into your workspace and use full-spectrum light bulbs that simulate sunlight.

Place inspiring pictures of your desires and goals in frames, on your bulletin board or as art on the wall.

Buy a rounded-leaved plant to sit next to your computer to counteract the electromagnetic rays from the screen.
