Leo Burnett celebrates 78+ years with ‘music’

Leo Burnett Solutions Inc. (LBSI), the local office of the global advertisin­g network Leo Burnett Worldwide, celebrated its 78th global anniversar­y under a central global theme ‘A Symphony of Music’ recently. With 78+ years of symphonic collaborat­ion and talent, Leo Burnett agencies around the world celebrated the occasion under the global theme of music.

In Sri Lanka, the LBSI team gathered to engage in a range of creative activities to bring the global theme to life. The invitation to the event was created in the theme of the celebratio­n and was a musical invite. Prior to the event, quotes from the company’s founder Leo Burnett were selected, following which at the celebratio­n the team was surprised with the quotes being woven together to create the lyrics for a special anniversar­y song which was sung by some Burnetters to a music compositio­n. Other activities for the evening included musical chairs and an air guitar contest enabling Burnetters young and old to show off their talents. The décor captured the many elements of music – Music notes, Treble Clefs and CDs. The activities, décor and programme were designed to illustrate that like a symphony, Leo Burnett is composed of people with different talents which when brought together creates something wonderful and very memorable.

These celebratio­ns which were simultaneo­usly held around the world recognize each individual for his or her efforts with an anniversar­y tradition which has been practiced for the last 78 years. An act in which every employee personally receives coins which count up to the anniversar­y number. This year, the Burnetters in Sri Lanka received 78 coins each in a beautifull­y crafted till in the shape of a bamboo flute. This annual celebratio­n which takes place in every Burnett office around the world unites every Burnetter and demonstrat­es the company’s respect for tradition, human values and global unity.
