Isipathana launches own website
It all started in the ‘Isipathana Rugby Fans and Kings of Rugby’ Facebook groups when few unknown enthusiastic young Isipathanians met online. Every one of them had only one similarity, which was none other than the pure love and passion to their beloved alma mater.
In August 2008 this team formed a group named ‘Isipathana College Online Information Centre’ (ICOIC) on the Facebook website with the goal of providing information and news, sports updates, etc to fellow Isipathanians both locally and globally, as and when it happens. They created another meaning and a dimension to the Facebook groups. With the use of cutting edge technology, this group created history by providing live updates to group members on every aspect, especially the live updates on rugby matches and not to mention the official video trailers.
It was widely acclaimed the Isipathanians themselves and even by non – Isipathanians, that the website was a huge success even though the response on Facebook was very limited.
Therefore, the ICOIC crew unanimously decided to move to their own website with the intention of broadening the scope of the current activities which are being carried out, such as providing educational needs for the needy (specially sportsmen), societies , associations and employment opportunities for school leavers.
The ICOIC team is constantly expanding its network through appointing of guest editors on group basis to carry forward the goal without any interruption.
