MY SECRET GARDEN

Until October: Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences is hosting an exhibition named “My Secret Garden”.

The area surrounding the City of Arts and Sciences has welcomed another exhibition to its installations comprised of six large format structures created by Arne Quinze that are inspired by nature and which seem to flourish. They represent the research that the artist has performed on nature’s diversity.

Arne Quinze was born in Belgium and currently lives and works in Belgium, and Los Angeles, in the USA.

FERNAND LÉGER AND MODERN LIFE

Until September 15: Fernand Léger y la vida moderna ( Fernand Léger and modern life), a coproduced exhibition between the Valencia institute of modern art ( IVAM) and Tate Liverpool at the IVAM. It contains 50 paintings and drawings by the artist, as well as large scale photomurals, films, graphic design and fabrics. The aim of the exhibition is to demonstrate Léger’s ( 1881- 1955) unique visual style that gives life to the intense experience and energy in the Parisian metropolis at the beginning of the 20th century. The exhibition is curated by Tate Liverpool’s Darren Pih and Laura Bruni.

IVAM is situated at Calle Guillem de Castro, 118 Valencia and is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00- 19.00, except Fridays when it closes at 21.00. It is closed on Mondays. General admission is € 6

ONE- TIME BEER FEST

Sep 7: Cerveza Tyris is holding an international beer festival to celebrate their tenth anniversary. The company has organised the UFO Fest Valencia Edition for September 7 in their factory. Attendees will have access to 10 artisan beers, 25 taps with the best national and international beers and 600 m2 of terrace space to sit down with friends and enjoy your beverages of choice. Furthermore, those who attend will have the opportunity to create a limited- edition artisan beer on the spot!
