Messages hint at Depp violence
LONDON: Johnny Depp beat and kicked his wife in a rage and then burst out crying when he realised what he had done, according to messages which have emerged.
An exchange of texts was released on Thursday as the actor’s bitter divorce battle with estranged wife Amber Heard worsened. The messages came to light as pictures showed Depp swigging Champagne with a mystery woman and getting embroiled in a 2am confrontation with his bodyguard outside an hotel.
The clash, in the early hours of Thursday morning in Denmark, makes it the third night in a row his antics have revealed he has been drinking heavily on his band’s tour.
The text messages appear to show Depp’s assistant Stephen Deuters allegedly apologising for the actor after he broke down in tears on realising he had attacked Heard.
The exchange begins with Deuters claiming the man, believed to be Depp, “knows he has done wrong”.
A woman thought to be Heard responds: “Yes but I don’t know how to be around him after what he did to me yesterday. I don’t know if I can stay with him.” Claiming Depp has no recollection of his behaviour, Deuters says: “He was appalled.”
“When I told him he kicked you, he cried. It was disgusting. And he knows it. He’s a little lost boy. And needs all the help he can get. He is so very sorry, as he should be.” Heard is alleged to have responded: “He’s done this many times before. Tokyo, the island, London (remember that?!), and I always stay. Always believe he’s going to get better... And then every three or so month (sic), I’m in the exact same position.”
Depp has so far chosen not to respond to the claims, but his lawyers have said Heard is making false allegations in order to obtain a sizeable slice of his £300 million fortune. - Daily Mail
