Mbali isn’t about to let an unknown threat destroy her.

-

The gloves are off in the manwar between sisters Mbali (Nolwazi Shange) and Winnie (Fundiswa Ngcobo). And while Mbali somehow always finds the tools to get her way, this time she may be out of luck – the secret that she’s been hiding from her hubby Jojo (Melusi Mbele) is known to a mystery person and they’re blackmailing her this fortnight, threatening to expose Mbali’s lies. “At first Mbali suspects that it’s her sister who is behind the calls,” explains Nolwazi. “This person knows so much about her – too much, in fact. And that scares Mbali.” But the real problem is going to prove much worse.

KEEP YOUR ENEMIES CLOSE…

Mbali doesn’t know the voice on the other side of the phone – it’s definitely not Winnie … but they know things that only Mbali and Winnie could know. “This is potentially someone really close to her,” explains Nolwazi, adding that her character is going to jump to conclusions and make a few mistakes in her quest to find her new enemy. “She’s fed information that makes her believe she will be able to find the person calling her with threats. Only the intel may be incorrect and could get someone hurt…”

BROKEN TELEPHONE

There’s a potential breakthrough moment for Mbali, though … but she needs to think carefully about what she’s heard from Tabea (Nthabeng Modula), Winnie’s bestie and confidante. “Tabea says things that make Mbali look at this in a different way. And in a moment of saying too much, Tabea fears Mbali may attack the wrong person and harm an innocent soul,” says Nthabeng. But Mbali has a motormouth herself and she’s unknowingly going to meet her mystery caller and tell them too much…

“She actually tells this person her secret – the very one she’s trying to keep from Jojo – and she is blissfully unaware she’s in the lion’s den,” says Nolwazi. “Mbali thinks she is intelligent and she will be able to figure out who is blackmailing her, but she’s in fact making it easy for the people who’re conspiring against her.” Nolwazi says it’s going to be entertaining when Mbali’s enemies are revealed, because it’s someone she doesn’t expect. “She’s surprised as she’s been in this person’s company the whole time, she’s been sharing information with this person and she wasn’t able to recognise their voice from the phone calls. Mbali is going to be furious, but she now needs to worry about who else is involved…
