ECONOMIC DIARY FEBRUARY 6-10
THIS coming week investor’s attention will be on the release of the balance of trade and current account, import and export prices and retail sales data by various developed countries.
Industrial and manufacturing figures will also be released by Germany, Japan, France and the UK. The weekly jobless claims and fuel stocks changes in the US will also draw interest.
Domestically the Reserve Bank will publish the level of foreign exchange reserves as at the end January, whilst StatsSA will announce the December data for mining and manufacturing production.

Thursday, February 9: StatsSA data for December of mining and manufacturing production.

Monday, February 6: China: Business sentiment indicator – January; Germany: Construction PMI – January; EU: Retail PMI – January.
Tuesday, February 7: Germany: Industrial production – December; Russia: Inflation rate – January; US: Balance of trade – January.
Wednesday, February 8: Japan: Foreign exchange reserves – January; US: Petrol stocks.
Thursday, February 9: Germany: Balance of trade and current account – December; China: Vehicle sales – January.
