Good chance for NMMU to keep top spot
LOG-leaders NMMU Madibaz will fancy their chances of retaining their place at the top of the Safa-NMB SAB League after their double-header this weekend.
The students, who have a seven-point lead, play Young Cosmos at the Walmer High School field tomorrow and host Royal Bucks at their Second Avenue Campus on Sunday. Both Cosmos and Bucks are deep in the relegation zone.
While Madibaz had a break after their match against PE Sundowns at their Second Avenue campus on Wednesday was called off because of faulty lighting, Cosmos lost 3-2 to Hearts and Bucks drew 2-2 with Island City.
Fairview Rovers, who had their match against Mabayibone Strikers postponed, host Golden Aces in Marock Road tomorrow and play Showvillage United Brothers at the NU2 Stadium on Sunday.
The northern areas outfit could struggle against Showvillage, but will fancy their chances of picking up maximum points against Aces.
Strikers are up against Highland Spurs and Despatch Pioneers.
They should win both matches comfortably.
It could be a big week for Hearts, who moved into the top four after beating Cosmos on Wednesday. They will announce their presence in the league with maximum points against Royal Bucks and Motherwell Academy.
