On Thursday next week, Park Village Auctions (PVA) will bring to market a complete extrusion plant and equipment stemming from the liquidation of Aft Optiroad, a high-density Polythene ducting manufacturing concern.

LeRoy Augustyn of PVA says the plant and equipment presents a sound investment opportunity.

“Although the plant is known for producing Telkom approved fibre optic ducting, the equipment on offer also lends itself to a wide range of applications in other sectors such as power transmission and mining.”

The equipment to be auctioned comprises an assortment of Hyundai Rexma extruders, vacuum tanks, cooling tanks; a Caterpillar haul truck, a crosshead die, a flying shear, a piggyback extruder, and winders.

Additional plant and equipment include a Duval Olmas double extruder, an Olmas corrugator, an Olmas haul-off, a cooling tank and saw. Dong Woo extruders and winders, a Shanghai Jwell extruder and two sets of Sehan extruder machinery – consisting of double extruders, extruders and winders – will also be auctioned.

Other items include an extruder water cooling and reticulation chiller unit, purpose made testers, an exotherm laboratory oven, and a chest freezer.

The plant and equipment will be sold on Thursday, April 6, onsite at number 4 Derrick Road, Spartan, Kempton Park. Commencing at 10:30am, bidders will have the opportunity to purchase assets piece meal or as an all-inclusive lot. Park Village Auctions will then accept the highest bid or combination thereof. Viewing is at the same venue on Wednesday from 10am to 3pm. Web reference: 12068.

“Given the current demand for fibre optic connectivity throughout the country and the subsequent speeds at which infrastructure is rolling out, we foresee this auction piquing interest among a host of telecommunication and last-mile Internet service providers.”
