Awesome Picanto at the right price

-

A combination of cutting-edge styling, which remains fresh four years later, a high quality interior and an inspiring driving experience – as well as a trophy cabinet full of awards – the Picanto remains the best example of how an affordable car doesn’t have to make any compromises.

As entry-level model in the local line-up, the new Picanto LS takes this ethos further to offer customers a significant value proposition without compromising on awesomeness.

Visually, the Picanto LS benefits from the same upgrades introduced to the Picanto range earlier this year, bar the exclusion of front daytime running lights, which have been replaced with stylish black mouldings.

Colour-coded bumpers at the front and rear remains standard, as does colour-coded door handles and side mirrors. The new Picanto LS ships with 14-inch steel wheels shod with 165/60 R14 tyres and full wheel covers identical to that of the Picanto LX.

Inside, the LS shares most of the LX model’s features, including air-conditioning, tilt-adjustable steering, a trip computer, height adjustable head rests and 60:40 split rear folding seats.

While the Picanto LS is not fitted with a standard radio, two front speakers and an Aux/USB connection is included and wired to work with a radio unit.

The KIA Picanto LS shares its powertrain and five-speed manual transmission with the Picanto LX, with the three-cylinder, 998cc Kappa engine producing 51kW of power and 94Nm of torque.

The car also features a Shift Indicator Light, which assists drivers in changing gears in such a way as to optimise fuel efficiency.

Available in 10 colours, the new Picanto 1.0 LS retails for only R119 995, which includes KIA’s fiveyear/150 000km warranty and three years of unlimited roadside assistance.
