With only hours left before rapper Cassper Nyovest carries out the biggest achievement of his musical career – filling up one of the largest stadiums in Africa, the FNB Stadium – he still has no idea how many tickets have been sold.

The 26-year-old says people who will be making their way to the concert in Soccer City Avenue, Nasrec, can expect an energy-filled experience that will leave them amazed.

The concert begins at 4pm tomorrow and runs until 1am.

“There will be a lot of love and well-rehearsed performances. It will be a worldclass show,” he said, adding that he will perform music from all three of his albums and give his fans the best experience he possibly can.

The hip-hop star says while filling up the 95 000 FNB Stadium will count as one of his major achievements, the world is yet to see how big a dreamer he is.

“I’m very happy people have been supportive. I know I can achieve a lot of great things because of this support. It’s truly inspiring.”

In 2015, Cassper filled up the 20 000 capacity Ticketpro Dome, a first for a local artist, leaving naysayers swallowing their pessimistic comments, and 2016 saw him filling up the Orlando Stadium in Soweto with approximately 40 000 people. The Tito Mboweni hit maker advises those that plan on filling up FNB Stadium tomorrow to come fully prepared. “Come with your video cameras and a lot of flashlights. There will be amazing acts. Tshepo Tshola will be there, as will Riky Rick, Tira and other incredible artists. It’s going to be an amazing night,” he said. With the startling support that he has been getting, the musician indicates that it only makes sense to grow his already massive dreams. “There is a possibility of moving ‘Fill Up’ concerts to two other countries and another city,” he explained, pointing out that it would be nice to move it back home to the North-West, however not confirming anything just yet, but stating that Rustenburg might not be a bad spot.

Cassper says the show costs him R15 million to put together and that the stage on its own costs R5.2 million.

The rapper has three major sponsors – Ciroc, SABC 1 and Budweiser – giving him much-needed support.

“Thanks to them for partnering with me on this journey to make history and change our industry forever,” he said.

Standard Bank has also decided to lend its support by partnering with the artist at the concert.

Cassper, whose birthday is on December 16, says he plans on throwing his annual Fresh Prince on Maftown birthday celebration once again in his hometown, Mafikeng, in the North West province.

“It’s going to be a big party. I have worked so hard. I can’t wait to go back home and have good conversations with the people I grew up with and those I have worked with.”

The star says he knows he wouldn’t have achieved all he has had it not been for his loved ones.

“My team has carried me. My family and friends are my key,” he says.

The rapper says all his “Fill Up” concerts have taught him consistency and tenacity, and enabled him to see that dreams do come true if you work hard at them.

“Never give up on a dream, no matter what,” he says.
