Friday Sunsets
Go and discover the masterful blend that is Johnnie Walker at the Friday Sunsets.
Set at a prime location with Johannesburg’s best views, this refreshing event, which commenced on September 1 at the Radisson Blu in Sandton, is a weekly afternoon social gathering that promises to give patrons a unique experience.
Guests are treated to sultry lounge, deep house and vocal house music while overlooking the Sandton landscapes and glorious sunsets at the elegant five-star hotel’s pool deck on the eighth floor.
In order to be able to relax and unwind while indulging in some whisky, either shaken in a cocktail or on the rocks, aspirant guests are encouraged to RSVP their names to for their free entry, and toast the end of the work week and the start of the weekend in style. 2. DStv Delicious Festival
A line-up of legendary South African artists is set to thrill audiences at the fifth DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival when Limpopo’s Dr Thomas Chauke, Thandiswa Mazwai and Black Coffee take to the stage on October 7 and 8 at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand.
Chauke hardly needs an introduction. He is a South African Xisonga musician, granted an honorary doctorate in African languages for the role his music has played in the development of the Xisonga language.
Sublime South African songstress Mazwai is set to raise temperatures at this year’s festival, while Black Coffee will elevate energy levels at Kyalami with his distinctive home-brewed Afro-house band.
These incredible acts will share the stage with a fantastic line-up of international artists, including Common, Imagination featuring Lee John, Alexander O’Neal, Omar and Femi Kuti.

Kick off spring at Pure & Crafted SA – Joburg’s only festival for all things music, motorcycling and new heritage, taking place on September 30 at Plot 19, Driefontein Road in Muldersdrift.
The action gets under way at 11am and wraps up at 2am on October 1. An epic day and night of incredible music from top international and local artists will play across two stages.
Headlining the main stage is none other than Belgium-based DJ and producer Lost Frequencies, fresh from hosting an arena at Tomorrowland, who will perform in Joburg for the first time.
A powerful local line-up includes DJ Fresh, Timo ODV, Euphonik, Dean Fuel, Kyle Worde, Chunda Munki, Matthew Mole, Bye Beneco, The Rocketeers, Bianca Blanc and Ricky H.
On the vintage stage, South African-Swiss DJ and deep house producer Nora en Pure will headline with her chart-topping beats.
Joining Nora en Pure will be top local DJs Tomorrows Will, Guy Herman, Abby Nurock, Warren Bokwe playing a vinyl set, Strange Loving, Bantwanas, Kyle Cassim and Kyle Watson.
All this partying is bound to make you hungry and thirsty. The festival’s 30plus food and drinks vendors will be ready to serve up gourmet street food, craft beers, cocktails and loads more.
The New Heritage area will be a feast of authen- ticity, artisanal craft, bespoke design and custom expressions from some of SA’s coolest homegrown brands. Shop for custom helmets, leathers, denim, wood products and watches and even book a tattoo and shave.
For the first time, Pure & Crafted SA will host the very best artisans from Cape Town, including Dusty Rebels and The Bomshells, The House of Machines, Wolf & Maiden, Real+Simple, Bonafide Barbers and many more.
Inspired by the popular Pure & Crafted in Berlin, Germany, the local festival is designed to celebrate the fast-growing custom motorcycle scene in South Africa.
