“It doesn’t feel special just yet. Our focus is training, living up to the expectations of our instructors and excelling in the exams,” says Kanth.

The three are training at the Indian Air Force base in Hakempet with male colleagues. They are not getting any special treatment.

While women pilots have been flying helicopters and transport aircraft since 1991 in the force, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar decided they could also fly fighter aircraft. – Mail Today
