This father is a real monster

-

A KHARWASTAN father was sentenced to five years in prison for fondling his daughter on three occasions. The 36-year-old repairman, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his minor child, denied sexually assaulting the 11-year-old girl. However, Magistrate Simphiwe Hlope disregarded the man’s version and described him as a predator.

Sohini N Saaghir: Only five years for this crime?

Naresh Keshav: He should be put behind bars forever.

Liz Pillay: Hand this monster to me. Should this monster or any other person do this to my child, I would spend the rest of my life beind bars.

Dian Naidoo: What a ridiculous sentence. It is because of our poor justice system that these perpetrators

get away with such crimes.

Baboo Narrandes: Sicking

to hear such news.

Aroo Naicker: Such a lenient jail term? He should have been jailed for at least 10 years for sexually molesting his flesh and blood. Her life will not be the same again. It would take her years to trust any man again. Our justice system sucks.

Sandy Govender: I'm sick and tired of our justice system. How can he do that to his child and only get five years in jail. After he serves his time, he will claim to be a changed person. But his child will have to live with what happened to her for the rest of her life. n Dimple Manilall: What is this world coming to? Children are not safe with their parents. He should have received a longer sentence.

Ashney Kantha: He is getting off too easily. n Tasha Omapershad: Shocking!

I feel sorry for the child.

Nash Govender: I feelsorry for the child. The pest in her life should have been locked up permanently. I pray for the child to heal.

Eureka Jaganath-Sewpersadh: It is really sad and disappointing how such serious crimes get lenient punishment. What happens after five years when he is out of prison? Poor child.

Rashika Ramdew: Five years? He deserves much more than that for hurting and traumatising this poor girl. What kind of father does that to his own daughter?

Jane Samuel: A father is meant to be the head of his home. It is said when they become molesters. We warn our kids about strangers yet sometimes the perpetrators are from within. He should have been given a life sentence. That child will never get over her father hurting her instead of protecting her.
