Pandor’s biased stance towards Israel wrong

-

WE CAN’T remain silent while Israel is under attack.

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. When bad men combine, the good must work together or face falling, one by one.

It is important during these times, when lies are told so many times that they are believed to be true, to ensure that we stand up for the truth and correct the wrongs.

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) has a vision of championing an Africa that is prosperous, peaceful, democratic, non-racial, non-sexist, united and aspires to a world that is just and equitable.

With Naledi Pandor at the helm of Dirco, the department is dysfunctional. Dirco's failure to facilitate mediation between Israel and Palestine is a clear illustration of how dysfunctional and biased the department is under Pandor.

Evident in her biased attitude is the fact that taxpayers’ money was used to fund the Palestinian embassy. She has also bizarrely called for pickets at all the Israeli embassies in the world.

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

If we want to have a just and equitable world, we cannot have biased individuals who, as state officials, embrace division and hate. She needs to be removed from her position.

Political parties and politicians, as leaders of society, should refrain from having biased attitudes as this could lead to unnecessary and regrettable tension.

The ANC, as the governing party, should apologise for the statement it issued and in which it claimed that Israel had no right to defend itself.

The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away. Africans have a precious gift, called “ubuntu” ( humanity).

We call for humanity before politics, and for our leaders to promote peace, not division.

Peace-loving citizens, now more than ever, is the time to stand together and pave the way to a better life for generations to come.
