Chippa ready for Baroka challenge
Chippa United coach Lehlohonolo Seema says his players are well prepared for the DStv Premiership fixture against a dangerous Baroka FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday (3.30pm).
The Eastern Cape-based professional side will be hoping for a win against Baroka to make up for their disappointing 1-1 draw against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in their last league fixture.
Chippa are 11th on the log with only five points after five league matches.
They have managed to clinch only one win this season, with two draws and as many defeats.
Preparations this week ahead of the Baroka “game went well,” Seema said.
I think we were all disappointed, especially “the players ... you could see in the dressing room that they were very distracted they
— were not happy after the game against TTM. “It s a game that they thought was there for
’ the taking. However, we did not win it. The good thing is the injured players are “back, and in terms of fitness we will have to look at them again.”
The Chilli Boys have roped in Mamelodi Sundowns duo, right-back Nyiko Mobbie and midfielder Luvuyo Phewa to strengthen the team going forward.
Seema said whether or not he would play the two on Sunday was still undecided. The good thing is they have been training, “so we'll see if they might feature any time soon,” he said.
Bakgakga are fifth on the log table with eight points from five matches.
In their last league fixture they played to a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates.
“We know that we are coming up against a Baroka team that has been playing very well. It was just unfortunate that they conceded in the last minute of the game.
They are playing at home so they will be “very dangerous, and we are aware of what to expect. We will give them the respect they deserve, and because we are playing away, we will have to make sure that we box smart. I am happy with how the preparations “have been going, but we will see on Sunday how the game will turn out,” he said.
