● The much anticipate­d Joyous Celebratio­n concert will be live at the Abbotsford Christian Centre on Saturday. Pastor Jabu Hlongwane, musician and co-founder of the group says the group celebrates its 23rd album. Tickets at R200 from Computicke­t. Show starts at 7.30pm.

● To end off Women’s Month with a bang, NTE4, along with the Grandview Farm, will host the Spring Affair. SA actress and TV host Enhle Mbali will host the event. Tickets are available at R220 at Computicke­t. The theme for the day is Shades of Bloom with Naak Musiq, Mobi Dixon and DJ Kabila to entertain guests. Gates open at 5pm.

● The Battle Zone Party is the ultimate hip-hop gathering of local artists to celebrate their love for the genre. At the Rainbow Pub & Grill at the Beachfront in East London. Tickets are R60 and R80 at the door. VIP tickets at R100.

● South African choreograp­her, Kirsten Isenberg, returns to East London to create the full length ballet of The Tin Soldier. Using artistic licence, this version of the classic tale will be performed by the Joanna Wright School of Ballet with the role of the Tin Soldier being danced by guest dancer Farnel Smart from Cape Town. The show will be at the Guild Theatre with a matinee and evening performanc­es. Tickets are available at Computicke­t from R120 per ticket.

● East London initiative Bumb’Ingomso will “Unmask the Face of Depression in Young Women” through a dialogue at the Cambridge Hall. The event will empower young women by tackling the high levels of detected and undetected depression in young women in tertiary institutio­ns in BCMM. ● Come and enjoy a morning of good dialogue on the importance of African Literature at the Umnombo dialogue at the Braelyn Hall in Amalinda. The event will highlight and celebrate African poetry and stories by the continent’s authors. The dress theme for the day is African attire. The dialogue starts at 10am.

ON SUNDAY

● Gospel sensation Veliswa Skeyi will host her album launch at the OR Tambo Hall in Zwelisha, King William’s Town. The album is titled uLoyiso ngoKrestu. Bathandwa Khwatsha will be the guest speaker with entertainm­ent from artists Ntethelelo, Bulelani Koyo, Mawethu and Asithandil­e. The event will start at 1pm and end at 7pm. Entrance is R100 for adults and R50 for children.

ON THURSDAY

● The Heather Cooper School of Ballet and the Guild Theatre will present the Lion King & Friends. The show will run from Thursday until Saturday, September 7. Tickets are on sale at the Guild or Computicke­t. The production promises to be filled with entertainm­ent that will have the audience dancing in their seats.

ON FRIDAY

● The Belgravia Arts Centre, in conjunctio­n with Legends Showcase, will host an evening of live music and art. The event will feature entertainm­ent by Can of Worms, Sevive, Serotonin - Tha Band and more. The show starts at 7pm with tickets going for R100.

NEXT SATURDAY

● Buffalo City TVET College (St Marks Campus) will host the second annual ARTS Imbizo Festival. Come and enjoy live performanc­e by local and national artists as well as some creative crafts. Tickets are R50 and R70 at the gate. Local clothing brands will also be available on the day of the event. The Imbizo will be hosted by Ayanda Daweti who is known for his role in TV drama Scandal. ● Pastor Gugu Mbuku will host the Psalm Life Worship Festival at the Orient Theatre. The event will also serve as a book launch and will feature various gospel artists from around the country. The event starts at 5pm and will feature Ntokozo Mbatha, Lusanda Beja, Siphokasi Sondishe and many more. Tickets are available at R250 at Computicke­t.

● Come and enjoy a tea garden, food stalls and fresh produce at the Spring Pop Up Market. Hosted by St Bernard’s Hospice, the event will take place at 44 St Mark’s Road in Southernwo­od, East London.
