Help sought to find missing persons
KUILS River police have appealed for the public's help in locating missing 19-year-old Astravon Jantjies and 49-year-old Alex McMillan.
Jantjies was last seen by her brother on Wednesday at the canal behind the BP garage in Van Riebeeck Road, while McMillan was last seen a week ago at about 6.30pm by his sister when he went to a nearby spaza shop.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said: “At the time of Jantjies' disappearance she was wearing a black and white long dress. She has a scar on the side of her left eye; she is slenderly built with brown eyes and black long hair.”
McMillan was wearing a blue T-shirt, black tracksuit pants and black and cream takkies.
At the weekend, police again issued alerts for three people who have been missing since last year – Petrus Willemse, aged 52, Zola Lucingo, aged 53, and Johnvon van Wyk aged 30.
Willemse, from Jupiter Street, Sarepta, Kalkfontein, was last seen by his sister on November 4 when he went to visit family in Bonteheuwel.
At the time of his disappearance, he was seen wearing a red-and-black coat, navy blue jeans, and black takkies.
Police said that Lucingo was last seen on April 7 at about 4pm by his sister when he said he was going to sleep.
Van Wyk was last seen on December 18 by his mother when he left home at Betty Street, Kalkfontein, Kuils River, at about 7.45am.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue pants, a long-sleeved black T-shirt, a black K-Way jacket, and black safety boots.
Western Cape Missing Persons Unit chief executive Candice van der Rheede appealed to the public to assist in locating any of the missing people, adding that their families are distraught.
