Does Cricket SA back BLM political agenda?

-

PERHAPS we should pause in the rush to judgement on Cricket SA on the one side and Boeta Dippenaar on the other and consider exactly what is being said.

Accuracy and objectivity are the first casualties in political discourse and what this exchange of opinions is centred on is the precise meaning of a three-word phrase, “black lives matter”.

If Cricket SA is supporting the idea that black lives matter then there’s no room for dispute except by those on the lunatic fringe.

If Cricket SA is supporting the slogan, “Black Lives Matter”, expressing the same idea, then the same applies.

If Cricket SA are expressing solidarity with Black Lives Matter (BLM) since this has all the hallmarks of an organisation posing in the sheep’s clothing of a virtuous civil rights movement while actually being a wolf with a political agenda.

The question then arises, does Cricket SA support that political agenda?

BLM is a global organisation which rather undermines the posturing, supported by CNN’s Don Lemon, that it is concerned with systemic racism in the police forces of the US. This global organisation is funded to the tune of millions of US dollars; that is a matter of public record.

The brain behind the funding is reported to be one Susan Rosenberg, convicted in the US in 1983 for domestic terrorism and sentenced to 58 years in jail.

She was pardoned by President Clinton on his last day in office to the cheers of the Democratic congressional caucus.

The leaders of the organisation and its sponsors, including Ms Rosenberg, have what can only be described as pro-Marxist leanings. Its supporters have rioted, looted, and destroyed public and private property. They have expressed sentiments such as “Kill all the white folks”.

If this is what Cricket SA is backing we need to know. It’s too important to be vague about. If Cricket SA refuses to confirm its exact position then the cricket-loving public will be free to make its own assumptions. IAN FLINT | Onrusrivier
