Chic pink polo with a purpose

Raising funds to combat breast cancer, write Nontando Mposo and Gerry Cupido

-

ONE of Cape Town’s most anticipated gatherings, the Cintron Pink Polo, will take place tomorrow at the Val de Vie Estate. The event brings together the South African elite, entertainers, socialites, families and the who’s who in the sport of polo, business and the social scene.

The affair is for raising funds and creating awareness of symptoms and early detection of breast cancer, as well as assisting women and men affected by the disease from all corners of South Africa.

It also celebrates survivors of breast cancer and their inspirational stories of hope, healing and triumph.

The immaculate Val de Vie Estate in Paarl will be tastefully transformed into a fluffy pink heaven.

It will be decorated in vibrant hues of fresh pink, red, navy and silver, with touches of textured fabrics and patterns, which is the inspiration for the “Polo Chic” dress code and décor.

Guests will spend the afternoon enjoying canapés, sipping on premium sparkling wine, Veuve Clicquot Rosé, mingling and watching a riveting 14-goal polo match.

Captain Leroux Hendriks will lead team Cintron consisting of Johan du Preez, Jannie Steenkamp and Johan du Plooy.

Team Vodacom is captained by Tom de Bruin and players Ben Crowe, Murray Hampson and Charl du Plessis.

They will compete to win the coveted Cintron Pink Polo trophy.

Since its inception in 2010, the event has become a powerful conduit through which guests are introduced to the sport of kings in an exclusive, luxurious setting while lending a voice to the fight against breast cancer.

Families can enjoy the Pink Food Truck Fair area with a selection of artisanal drinks, gourmet food and sweet delicacies on blankets and chairs in the summer sun.

Polo Pavilion tickets offer front seats for the spectacular fashion show, pop-up store delights and unique food and drink services in the spacious lounge area, while keeping an eye on the excitement of the match taking place on the luscious polo greens.

VIPs can look forward to a specialised butler service in an opulent setting with delectable canapés and premium cocktails curated by Cintron and Campari, rubbing shoulders and shaking hands with A-list celebrities, while appreciating the breathtaking views of the majestic surroundings.

Private VIP lounges are available for groups of 20 guests or more for a day out in the picturesque Winelands with friends or colleagues, celebrating in the Valley of Life.

Renowned designer Casper Bosman will be conducting a sensational fashion show and dressing female Master of Ceremonies –TV presenter Mishka Patel and KFM’s Sechaba G – in his stylish creations on this powerful platform. What you wear on the day is key. From your outfit, to your hair and make-up, a balance of comfort and style should go hand-in-hand.
