Sexy seven seem set to crank up the Miami heat

- MUNYARADZI VOMO

THE ONE thing you can’t miss about the Miami Social posse is that they are all good-looking. It’s sort of like that group at school who only recruited kids because of their looks.

But in Miami Social they aren’t in school, they’re in the mean post-college world.

The people involved do not live with their parents, instead they have jobs, or lucrative businesses. The show documents the real lives of seven young professionals who are doing well in their careers.

Meet George, a wellknown face in South Beach. He is a high-powered banker who runs an investment and consulting firm. He says making money is one of his hobbies. What a tjop. Heads up though: George is cast in the show with his ex, Sorah.

Speaking of Sorah, she is a successful businesswoman who strikes a good balance between work and time out.

She is a realtor and does property management. In her spare time Sorah enjoys relaxing at the beach or hotel pools and visiting the coolest restaurants in South Beach with her girls. Though she is divorced from ladies’ man George, they still share a complex friendship (think The Bold and the Beautiful’s Ridge and Taylor). This complicates things with her beau Gonzalo.

Then there is Ariel, one of the key players in Miami’s nightlife scene. He is a regular at the hottest parties and clubs in town and always cracks a spot on the VIP list.

During the day he works as a fashion producer and is also vice-president of the family business, 20/20 Vision Management Inc.

If you need to know all there is about Miami, Hardy is your man. He is the big man at the Hill Hospital Group and with his fat wallet come parties Hardy hosts. His job keeps him abreast of the happenings in Miami’s nightlife.

Then there is Katrina, whose mantra in life is: “work hard, play hard”. She is one of Miami’s most sought-after real estate agents. She owns a real estate brokerage, The Campins Company, which caters to an elite clientele.

We also meet Maria, who is a no-nonsense Russian hottie who moved to and conquered Miami in 2005.

She is an art director and freelance photographer who has had the opportunity to travel the world

Lastly, there is Michael, the most knowledgeable in the group. He is in touch with A-list celebrities because of his job as a freelance editor. He is also a commentator for TV shows such as CNN’S Showbiz Tonight. As a sideline he also punts his website: www.thestylelab online.com

With all of the guys having a chip on their shoulder, you know this is going to be an interesting ego orgy. But on the bright side, you can’t help but commend them for conquering the mean streets of Miami.

airs from January 27 at 10pm on SABC3.
