The festive season is the perfect time to do some DIY around your home. Cashbuild has been speaking to its customers throughout the year and many of them have successful­ly completed projects with the quality building material Cashbuild sells. They have enjoyed being able to work together as a team and to see the results of their labour. One successful DIYer said Cashbuild has helped him and his family to create memories in their home.

The company’s DIY projects are for the layman. Details on how to do these home improvemen­ts can be found on Cashbuild’s website, www.cashbuild. co.za, as well as on its Facebook page. You will be able to see step-by-step videos, tips and products to use on these pages, however, most importantl­y you will learn how to add your own personal touch to every project you undertake. Paint is one way to add your own style to any undertakin­g. Whether you are doing your own painting or whether you are using contractor­s, colour allows you to express yourself and to make your home look unique. There is a wide variety of paint and colours available at Cashbuild as well as all the tools and accessorie­s needed to complete a project. Remember that as well as buying paint, you should buy drop sheets to cover your furniture and floors, and masking tape to mark off the area to paint as well as project areas from spills.

You will also need to buy brushes, rollers, turpentine, thinners and a scraper to clean off old paint.

There is a range of products available for many different DIY projects including paint, tiling, taps, gardens, paving, repairing leaks, decorative ceilings, shelving and other home improvemen­ts. Reno Race is a TV show sponsored by Cashbuild on SABC 1 at 21:00 on Thursdays. Although this season comes to an end on December 24, all episodes will be available on Cashbuild’s YouTube channel afterwards.

The show focusses on home, school and community renovation­s used building products exclusivel­y from Cashbuild stores. Two teams compete against each other to see which one can do the best renovation in 48 hours.
