Walima, a Qatari-inspired restaurant boasting of a variety of dishes from across the Middle East and led by Arabian cuisine guru chef Sezar, will offer generous Ramadan Iftar boxes. Chef Sezar’s selection of dishes will include Walima’s star chicken biryani, lamb machboos or mixed grill as the main course, a diverse selection of hot and cold mezzeh, beverage and a must have at any Iftar table – majdool dates, dried figs, nuts and lentil soup.

Further, Walima’s head chef, Sezar Eliass and Morimoto’s executive chef, Timur Fazilov, have collaborated to provide exclusive set menus as part of the Chefs of Qatar Virtual Food Festival.

Through the initiative supported by Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) and Qatar Airways, and available for delivery on Talabat, Walima will offer a traditional Iftar-style meal with chef Sezar’s signature mixed grills and a variety of hot and cold mezzeh, as well as an Arabic dessert, fruit and dried fruit platters; while Morimoto’s menu will boast of the best of Japanese cuisine, including miso soup, buckweed noodles, tempura shrimps, a selection of maki and sushi and a souffle-like cheesecake with fresh blackberry jam and fresh fruit, Mondrian Doha has said in a statement.

In addition, all a la carte options from Mondrian outlets - including CUT, Morimoto, Walima, etc - will be available for takeaway and delivery as part of Mondrian’s ‘Taste-to-Go” offering.

Mondrian Doha general manager Vasileios Oikonomopoulos said, “Mondrian Doha is delighted to share in the joy of Ramadan through an amazing ‘Taste-toGo’ dining offering, and to give back to the community around us. We are grateful to our partners in QNTC, whose support played a crucial role in helping us make this Ramadan truly special despite all the current challenges.”

Also in the framework of the first-of-its-kind Chefs of Qatar Virtual Food Festival, chef Timur has collaborated with renowned Qatari chef, pilot and founder of ‘The Cooking Academy’, Hassan al-Ibrahim. The collaboration was the fruit of several workshops and food tastings the two chefs held at the Morimoto kitchen, with a bespoke menu blending Qatari and Japanese flavours to be soon revealed and available for delivery via Talabat. The menu curated by the two famous chefs will feature traditional Qatari products – hamour, lamb chops and local baby chickens prepared with the finest Japanese techniques, sauces and add-ins.

Mikel Ibrahim, V-P, Sales & Marketing, Mondrian Doha, added: “Thanks to Mondrian’s innovative and bold approach, our team has once again devised creative ways to celebrate Ramadan with Qatar. The collaboration between chef Timur and chef Hassan, as part of the virtual food festival, will offer Qatari residents a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience, and an inspiration for their own culinary creations.”

Mondrian outlets will also offer catering services for corporate clients who would like to pamper their employees with fine-dining Iftar options during Ramadan.
