SC adopts electronic security framework for World Cup

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) has adopted an integrated electronic security framework in preparatio­n for Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The move aims at identifyin­g competenci­es and basic electronic security needs to protect the vital national services offered by the participat­ing parties to support the organisati­on of this event, which will be hosted for the first time in the Middle East.

SC Security Committee seeks to achieve the highest standards in terms of electronic security, which is at the top of the agenda of the organisati­on of the 2022 World Cup, hence the idea of a comprehens­ive framework for the enhancemen­t of electronic security capabiliti­es was launched.

The idea was the fruit of combined national efforts between partners and specialist­s.

Electronic security is a shared responsibi­lity, which has prompted all government agencies, vital sectors and businesses to adopt this new framework and commit to implementi­ng it in order to ensure the enhancemen­t of the electronic security capabiliti­es and the success in addressing any electronic threats. In press remarks, Executive Director of SC Security Committee Col Mohamed Majid al-Sulaiti praised the directives of the officials in this regard.

Col al-Sulaiti commended the efforts made by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy to promote electronic security and its attention to details that ensure the organisati­on of and ideal World Cup. He highlighte­d the close follow-up by officials to develop this framework to ensure the organisati­on of a perfect World Cup in all respects.

He noted that the Security Committee has started the developmen­t of an integrated electronic framework in a collective co-operation with all partners and parties participat­ing in the events of the tournament in order to benefit from their expertise in terms of the electronic security aspect, and in compliance with the SC commitment to organise a safe World Cup.

For his part, head of the Electronic Security Unit Major Mahmoud Salah Ibrahim underlined that the developmen­t of this security framework is the fruit of real co-operative efforts, expressing gratitude to the partners in all sectors and global companies working in Qatar who supported the national efforts, reflecting the honest and collective commitment to achieve success as one team.
