Facebook, Twitter and the Truth

-

FACEBOOK and Twitter are facing questions about taking down references to a New York Post report about Joe Biden. The action of taking down information that is incorrect, might be incorrect, or is offensive is understandable and sensible, but why now?

There are still millions of Facebook pages that contain inaccurate information and no, there is no proof of that. But it seems likely based on most people’s observations.

This isn’t probably that bad given there are at least a billion users and some of them are fake. Is it even possible for Facebook to take down all inaccurate pages? It’s doubtful.

Twitter has also stopped some items that it thinks are wrong but is it able to stop all? Again, it’s doubtful.

It seems that US President Trump has sent out over 50,000 tweets. If we removed any that were inaccurate, incorrect, impolite or incoherent, how many would be left?

Why can’t we just tell the truth?

Compare and contrast

Australia and America are friends with many characteristics in common although with a few contrasts too.

In Australia, an elderly COVID patient is isolated in a hospital room and cannot have visitors even as they pass on. In America, an elderly COVID patient can leave hospital to go for a drive and wave to his fans.

In Australia, one in 1,000 have got COVID. In America, one in 50 have got COVID.

In Australia, one in 3,000 have died from it. In America, one in 1,500 have died from it.

Australia might be smaller and isolated, but we are GREAT!

Come and visit us, once it is safe. ***

Watering down science sounds a

“Because they want to take care ' doing very well without water…” – US President Donald Trump (Oct. 9, 2020)

Science is hurting when comments like this are made. Fish are found in water, they like water, they need water.

Fish – big, small and even very tiny – die when they are removed from water, generally very quickly.

Trump is wasting the oxygen he is using, and if he talks to a scientist, | popular with Californians too and everyone else as well.

In fact, if he talks to a number of : things like “Don’t be afraid of COVID” are wrong.

Do be afraid of COVID, it has killed more people (over 200,000) than guns so far this year (almost 33,000).

Pray for a vaccine for COVID and pray for the Science that will develop it.

5 ƒ at the moment – being the moderator in the Trump-Biden presidential debate, or should that be debacle?

The moderator, Chris Wallace, | given the immoderate behavior of the current President.

Argue the politics, not the person, please.

Trump is positive

5 < “Trump” and “Positive” in the same sentence.

Hopefully after he and Melania do their time in isolation, they will come out healthy with a greater understanding of this pandemic and the value of masks and social distancing.

Mask up and keep your distance, please. /
