Second NakakaLocal Awards recognizes outstanding Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises

Following its successful official launch in 2022, Philstar Media Group (PMG)’s NakakaLocal, co-presented by SM Supermalls, celebrated another milestone as it culminated its second year with an awarding ceremony titled Kudos Local. The ceremony took place on the second day of the festive NakakaBazaar, which is NakakaLocal’s grand fair. The event’s aim is to cultivate PMG’s advocacy in promoting Filipino ingenuity through its support towards local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Initially starting with 18 MSMEs during its genesis, the NakakaLocal project, through a series of events, now extends its support to 775 brands. By doing this, it puts the spotlight on various businesses and entrepreneurs. Additionally, the project highlights the essential role of these MSMEs in contributing to Filipino culture and society by boosting the grit and creativity of Filipino entrepreneurs.

Fifty businesses joined the second NakakaBazaar festivities; all of them were recognized for their active participation and support towards the NakakaLocal project.

However, six brands were ushered further into the spotlight this year. They were given special recognition during Kudos Local.

Here are the brands and entrepreneurs welcomed on stage for their contributions and efforts in upholding NakakaLocal advocacies:

NAKAKABILIB AWARD: ISAY BAGS

This is awarded to the MSME who stays true to their commitment to sustainable practices while staying competitive in the challenging global market scene.

NAKAKAASENSO AWARD: ISLA KAPSULE

This recognition is given to the MSME that has showcased its creativity through innovation that answers consumer needs, disrupting the status quo by revolutionizing the industry, and sporting a good reputation backed by customer satisfaction.

Isla Kapsule takes pride in its coffee grounds packaged in capsules, making quality coffee accessible to many.
