PTAA TravelTour Expo 2020 is back!
Up to 70% discounts for Filipinos who can’t resist traveling
Every first quarter of the year, Filipinos bitten by the travel bug run to the booths of the annual TravelTour Expo (TTE) to explore exciting travel and tour deals for the whole year. Today, TTE’s 27th edition opens its doors at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia (MOA) in Pasay City.
Organized by the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA), this year’s edition is dubbed, “More > Real” with Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat set to deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony.
To be participated in by more than 400 exhibitors from the travel agency and tourism enterprise industry, there will be over 1,000 booths, and up to 70-percent discounts on cruise lines, hotels, theme parks, and airline fares. Packages offered apply to solo and group travel.
Being the largest annual gathering on travel and tours — domestic or international — the three-day expo expects to welcome more than 100,000 guests.
This aims for travel agencies and tour operators to give more value to travel buffs, more savings through affordable limitedtime deals, and “out-of-this-world” promotions.
“International travel has become affordable thus we expect not only millennials, but also professionals to be active tourists,” said PTAA president Ritchie Tuaño.
InternatIonal traveltrade expo 2020
Last Feb. 2-4, corporate travelers also participated in the fifth International TravelTrade Expo (iTTE) 2020, with 26 participating countries showcasing travel and tour deals for the business-to-business category of the expo.
The countries include Australia, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Guam, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Philippines, Portugal, Sarajevo, Singapore, Spain, Tanzania, Turkey, United Arab Emirates (Dubai), United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam.
Exclusive to registered trade buyers and sellers, the event was an opportunity for travel and tour agencies to share costeffective experiences with the assistance and guidance of their seasoned travel advisors.
For the first time, the iTTE was held separately from TTE to bring more concentration and exclusivity to the transactions.
“Compared to last year, our sellers now offer more discounted deals and got more engagement from customers, as they met both old and new agents as clients. Our buyers, on the other, are more free to roam around the booths and completely talk to our buyers about their offers,” said Tuaño in his gala message.
“These are positive proof that the goal of the iTTE to gather business professionals through a shared passion for traveling is significant, and much more appreciated by the traveling community. It’s our hope that this result continues as the TravelTrade Expo progresses.”
Among the main sponsors of the TTE and iTTE events are Citibank, Turkish Airlines, Tourism Promotions BoardDepartment of Tourism, Tourism Malaysia, and PLDT.
Encouraged to attend are travel and tourism trade practitioners, corporate and business travelers, holiday travelers, incentive and convention planners, government and business leaders, direct buyers, and investors.
General admission fee at the TTE is at P70 (including children and students); P50 for senior citizens.
