Adventures to the max with Disney Channel Live! at Vista Mall

- By CHING M. ALANO

WHAT happens when the most magical family-oriented television network on earth teams up with the happiest mall in the country for a first-ever campaign in the Philippines?

Expect only an adventure-filled world of fun and games as the Walt Disney Company Philippines and Vista Mall bring Disney Channel Live! to kids and kids-at-heart in different Vista Mall branches until November this year.

Proud to be the first to bring the Disney Channel adventures live to the Philippines, Vista Mall launched its year-long partnership with Mickey & Minnie Mouse last June through the campaign’s first caravan, Disney Junior Live at Vista Mall. The much-awaited caravan featured Disney Junior-themed activities with the kids’ favorites — the highspeed, pulse-racing Mickey and the Roadster Racers; Vampirina, the friendliest ghoul in town; and Puppy Dog Pals, the fun-loving, thrill-seeking brothers Bingo and Rolly.

This partnership between the Walt Disney and Vista Land promises to bring the well-loved characters, stories, and activities from Disney to legions of Pinoy fans. And with Christmas just around the proverbial corner, all ye Mickey lovers out there surely wouldn’t want to miss out on the special holiday surprise in store for you during the merriest season of all.

MEET THE LOVABLE, HUGGABLE BAYMAX

The fun-to-the-max caravan had a rousing kickoff at Evia Lifestyle Center, located at Vista Land’s flagship Vista Alabang, on Daang Hari Road, Las Pinas last September 13-22. The once-in-a-lifetime event had a special meetand-greet session with the lovable, huggable Baymax who made his first-ever appearance in the region, direct from San Fransokyo and landing at the Evia Lifestyle Center straight into the welcoming arms of droves of his Filipino fans last September 20-22. Kids sure had a whole lot of fun meeting Baymax upclose and personal, doing the fist bump and posing for Instagram-worthy photos with their favorite hero, with their mommies and daddies and lolos and lolas, too.

The adults (like us) were, in fact, screaming, too, when the door opened and out came our Big Hero Baymax in all his inflatable, high-powered robotic glory. If you kids will remember, Baymax last appeared in the Disneyanimated film Big Hero 6. He was also in the TV series and in videogames Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes and Kingdom Hearts III.

Who is Baymax really and why do kids love him so? Here’s a little background on this larger-than-life hero. Baymax had a humble start as a science project of Hiro Hamada and was later programmed to serve as Hiro’s bodyguard, butler and chauffeur rolled into one. Later, too, Baymax becomes a BFF (best friend for life) and big-brother figure to the young inventor. When Hiro joins the fledgling super team Big Hero 6, Baymax naturally joins in, too, lending his phenomenal strength, amazing surveillance, and data analysis capabilities. Making up the other members of this anti-violence Big Hero 6 league are Honey Lemon, Go Go Tomago, Wasabi, and Fred.

WORLD-CLASS EXPERIENCES DESERVE A WORLD-CLASS STAGE

With Vista Mall bringing in unique shopping and dining experiences that come with premium amenities and a thoughtfully curated lineup of world-class brands and shops, the partnership between Vista Mall & Walt Disney Philippines is the embodiment of a perfect fairy tale ending.

Filipinos are known to love spending time with their loved ones in commercial establishments — sharing meals, watching movies, shopping. The thing is, for most Filipinos living outside the metro, only community centers guised as malls are easily accessible. Vista Land, leading property developer for over 40 years, understands this and, true to its promise of building better communities, introduced the Vista Mall brand.

Vista Malls are known to be community-centric and beautifully designed — reminiscent of shopping centers Filipinos would only usually see while traveling abroad. The enchanting wonders of Vista Mall do not stop at the sheer beauty of its structures but also the magical moments they bring closer to Filipino families through its Disney Live! caravan.

AND THE FUN CONTINUES AT VISTA MALL

Are you ready to explore the exciting worlds of San Fransokyo, San Francisco-Tokyo, land of the Big Hero 6; Duckburg, home of Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and a whole slew of Duck characters, as well as Corona, Rapunzel’s castle in Tangled and Tangled Ever After?

Disney Channel Live! is at Vista Mall Taguig on September 27 to October 6; Vista Mall Santa Rosa, October 11 to 20; and Vista Mall Bataan, November 1 to 10.

There are various activities guaranteed to thrill kids, such as Tangled’s Slide-o-Lantern, Duck Tales’ Golden Coin Pit, Big Hero 6’s Shoot & Match, Stride & Kick, and Baymax’s origami-making, where parents are welcome to pit their creativity with their kids.
