Top 10 PH architecture firms and property developers honored at BCI Asia Awards 2018
Recognizing the valuable contributions of leading design and development enterprises towards environmentally responsible projects and resource-efficient building methods, BCI Asia named the Philippines’ 10 most-active architecture firms and property developers during the annual BCI Asia Awards last June 8 at the grand ballroom of Shangri-La at the Fort, Taguig City.

The 2018 winners were architecture and property developer firms that had the greatest aggregate value of projects under construction during the last full calendar year weighted by the extent of their sustainability efforts. For architecture firms, pre-tender projects were included to recognize early incorporation of Green design efforts.

Leading the way
The awardees represent the cream of the crop of the architecture, engineering and construction industries. The BCI Top Ten Architects and Top Ten Developers are, by measure of the total value of projects under their name, the most commercially successful firms in their respective fields. This year, the portfolios of these architecture developer firms contain USD 11.06 billion worth of properties while the portfolios of these top developers contain USD 2.87 billion.
Unlike any other award, a Top Ten Award cannot be gifted or acquired; it has to be earned by merit. It is not an award one can register for by payment or a fee: it is an award bestowed on a firm by invitation and merit only. Merit is measured in the most incorruptible of metrics: dollars. An achievement of merit is backed up by the most reliable of market data: projects researched by BCI and registered under the recipients name in BCI Asia’s project leads database.
Top Ten awarded developers have collectively generated projects valued over $23billion in 2017 — representing close to 10 percent of the construction volume of the seven markets included and boasting the fifth consecutive above-average increase since 2003. As BCI celebrates its 20th anniversary, it congratulates the achievements of the awardees as the undisputed leaders of their respective industries.
The BCI Asia Top 10 Awards
The BCI Asia Top 10 Awards is an annual series of by-invitation-only ceremonies held across seven major cities in Asia. Since 2005, this award has recognized developers and architecture firms with the greatest volume of construction projects on seven regional markers in Asia.
Now on its 14th year, the annual BCI Asia Awards is held in seven Asian regions — Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam — to recognize the top developers and architecture firms in these seven regional markets. BCI Asia Awards aims to encourage the creation of socially responsible architecture by honoring outstanding building design and leadership.
It highlights key industry players and moves the spotlight onto the national leading developers and architecture
firms. The awards are bestowed on firms that will shape and build the environment of tomorrow, enabling the market to better understand the important roles these firms play and their impact, both socially and on the environment.
One of the most coveted
BCI Media Group chairman Matthias Krups underscored the meaning behind the annual awards ceremony. “A BCI Top Ten Award is the undisputed gold standard of commercial accomplishment in the region’s building and construction sector,” he emphasized.
For 14 years now, BCI Asia Awards has remained as one of the most coveted awards in the regional building industry while serving as a platform for domestic and international networking among elite architecture firms, property developers and manufacturers. The annual event is also a highly anticipated forum where the region’s top architects and service providers gather for domestic and international networking in an environment filled by elite architecture firms, property developers and manufacturers.
In 2013, BCI Asia expanded and repositioned the Top 10 Awards to focus on sustainability. Consequently, winners are identified as firms with the greatest value of projects during the last full calendar year by the extent of their Green building ratings. In 2015, BCI Asia expanded the criteria further to include pre-tender projects for the Top 10 Architects Award to recognize the early incorporation of Green design efforts.
Besides the BCI Asia Top 10 Awards, the ceremonies also honored notable works with the FuturArc Prize (Green design competition), FuturArc Green Leadership Award and Interior Design Awards. More information on the BCI Asia Top 10 Awards and the 2018 winners can be found at
