National Book Storeʼs Xandra Ramos-Padilla on why nationalbookstore.com makes gift-shopping a total breeze

What is one Christmas memory you can never forget?

We have our family traditions for Christmas, but we are also trying to make new traditions for our own little family. We do a family portrait on the day of Christmas Eve, and open our gifts — including Santa's gifts for the kids. The most memorable Christmas memory was when we had our daughter be old enough to be excited about Santa's gifts. What is the best gift you have received on Christmas?

The best Christmas gift I've had so far was my December baby. But every Christmas I get to spend with my family and loved ones is a gift in itself. Which one is your favorite — giving or receiving gifts?

I love shopping for gifts and especially love the feeling of giving gifts. Seeing the joy on their faces and receiving that message later on about how thoughtful the gift was just brings a smile to my face. I also look forward to the challenge of finding the perfect gift.

Christmas shopping can be a challenge, but buying online can make it a breeze. How do you like using nationalbookstore.com to finish your list?

I love that you can have orders wrapped with a personalized tag when you order from nationalbookstore.com. It just makes it easier to send it out because you don’t have to worry about wrapping the gift anymore. I also love the fact that the NBS online store sells a curated selection of what you see in a physical store. Having a really busy schedule, I really appreciate that I can now order online whatever time of day, whether I'm in the middle of traffic or waiting to meet a business partner. What are your favorite gifting finds at National Book Store this Christmas?

The limited-edition collections of the seven design influencers (Amina Aranaz-Alunan, Cat Arambulo-Antonio, Cecile van Straten, Daphne Osena-Paez, Patty Eustaquio, Rajo Laurel and Rissa Mananquil Trillo) we worked with this season are the best gifts you can give this Christmas. Those make for very thoughtful and beautiful yet functional gifts. They are very affordable, too. If you are the type who loves giving the gift of writing, Sheaffer and Cross have released special collections featuring Star Wars and Marvel designs, respectively. Sheaffer also recently released the ION and POP collection which I use to write. If you love giving books, Dan Brown’s Origin and John Green’s Turtles All The Way

Down are two of the year’s big hits. If you love notebooks and paper, Australian cult-favorite brand kikki.K is now in the Philippines. You can also try our Paper Bar, where you can create your own personalized notebooks.
