Top karters launch bid for Petron title

The country’s finest karters gear up for another challengin­g season as they begin their title quest in the 2016 Petron Tri Activ Karting Season at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite.

Up for grabs in the series are the Minirok XCS, Formula Cadet Novice/Expert Ultron and the X30 Petron Tri-activ titles with Eagle Cement teammates Jacob Ang and Eduardo Coseteng Jr. expected to clash in a fierce showdown in the X30 Blaze 100 class.

Ang is coming off a rare grand slam feat after sweeping the Asian Junior, the KF Junior and the Junior Karter of the Year plums last season while Coseteng bagged the Mini-ROK XCS crown last year.

Joining the hunt in the X30 division are Bianca Bustamante, Keon Romoff, Eduardo Coseteng, Dylan Arambulo, Jerry Choi, Sean Smith and Tai Zulberti.

Jarred Kim, meanwhile, is tagged as the karter to beat in the Mini-ROK XCS division with Rap Rap Gutierrez, Joaquin Garrido, Zach David and Constantin Reisch out to foil his bid in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Associatio­n Philippine­s and sponsored by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint, Magnolia Pure Water and Yokohama the official tires.

The battle for the Formula Cadet Expert title is also tipped to go down-to-the-wire among Inigo Anton and Constantin Reisch as well as William Go, Maveric Corpuz, Kristine Yokoyama, Miguel Angeles and Khazart Romoff.
