Dr. Leonida Bayani Ortiz, president of the Young Women’s Christian Association of the Philippines (YWCA), announced that the association is holding its threeday 34th National Biennial Convention until tomorrow, Apr. 27 at the GSP Ating Tahanan, National Program and Training Center in Baguio City with the theme “Bold and Transformative Leadership.” The convention will gather around 100 YWCA delegates from different parts of the country. Host local association is YWCA of Baguio City under the leadership of Lilia Fariñas, local president.
Known civic leader Teresita “Tes” Choa was the keynote speaker during the opening ceremonies yesterday, while Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan gave a message. Lawyer Daniel Fariñas was the inspirational speaker during the welcome reception yesterday and also awarded the winners of the 4th YWCA olympics.
The conference workshop speaker will be Dr. Ligaya Tankeh who is also the chairperson of the MBM/NBC organizing committee with co-chairperson, Carmelita Merino and members, Lilia Fariñas, Virginia Peralta, Melody Marfil, Rosalinda Masongsong and Kristine Valbuena.
