The Philippine Star

Top of the Class

Everybody is crazy the latest kiddie sensation from Eat Bulaga, Ryzza Mae ÒCha ChaÓ Dizon.

- By SHINJI MANLANGIT

The Þrst time that Ryzza Mae Dizon competed for Eat BulagaÕs coveted Little Miss Philippines pageant, she lost to another contestant. While she deÞnitely doesnÕt look anything like the girls she competed with, Ryzza is in a class all her own. In a twist of fate, she got her second chance in the competition; itÕs obvious that they want her. In a way, her presence took everyone back to the Ô80s; back when Aiza Seguerra kept countless pairs of eyes glued to the screens from Aparri to Jolo.

However, times have changed. Aiza came out as a lesbian and is nearing 30. HollywoodÕs idea of a kiddie pageant winner is a foul-mouthed, redneck seven-year-old named Honey Boo Boo. These days, child stars come and go. One minute, theyÕre dancing on TV in ridiculously cute costumes, then you blink and theyÕre slapping MTRCB restrictions over how inappropriately slutty their dresses are. Thank God we have Ryzza Mae Dizon now.

Supreme marches to the top with Eat BulagaÕs latest kiddie sensation Ryzza Mae Dizon on losing, winning, family, and fun. We Þnd out how the Little Mutya ng Sto. Ni–o Pampang is graduating to the big leagues after being crowned and nabbing a sitcom in an exclusive interview.

SUPREME: When you won the Little Miss Philippines title, what was your beauty queen moment? What was the Þrst thing that came to your head when Bossing called you as the winner?

You lost in the semi-Þnals but you came back as a wild card contestant. Did you get scared that you would lose again? What drove you to Þght once more?

Before you became Little Miss Philippines, you became Little Mutya in Pampanga. What were the things that you learned from your Þrst pageant that helped you win that Little Miss Philippines crown?

Before you joined pageants, you were being teased because of your looks. If you were to face those who taunted you before, what would you say to them?

Did all that teasing and taunting help

you become what you are right now? What makes Ryzza Mae strong?

Now that youÕre a big star with a sitcom with Bossing Vic after your win, what changed in your life?

With your sitcom and Eat Bulaga every day, donÕt you get exhausted? What is your favorite thing about working on Eat Bulaga?

How about your studies right now? Do you get to study even after your shoots?

Would you prefer to continue showbiz or do you want to focus on your schooling soon? What degree would you like to pursue?

Opo.

What are your favorite things to do when youÕre not working? What is Ryzza Mae like at home?

Are you nice to your mommy? What are your favorite activities as a family? Now that youÕre earning, you can bond even more. How do you guys bond?

Who is your favorite cartoon character? WhatÕs your favorite food? WhatÕs your favorite toy or gadget?

Ryzza, in your episode of Magpakailanman, you were always carrying a handbag. Do you always carry a handbag? What do you usually put inside your bag?

What advice from your mom do you follow every day? What about advice from Bossing Vic or the people youÕve worked

with at Eat Bulaga?

Lagi daw pong mag pray at maging good

Describe yourself in three words.

Ma-cute, bibo at makulit! Salamat po! Chacha!
