Pacquiao gives Floyd until 2013

Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s latest rants, where he called Manny Pacquiao “desperate,” only reinforces the belief that he doesn’t want to fight the Filipino boxer at all.
Pacquiao reacted by saying that if the fight doesn’t happen in 2013, then it will never ever happen.
Speaking to USA Today, during a break in his training for a Dec. 8 showdown with Juan Manuel Marquez, Pacquiao also said Mayweather is to blame.
“I think he has his own plan – to put his name at the top. And he’s blaming me why the fight has not happened,” said the 33-year-old superstar from the Philippines.
Pacquiao said what’s most important for Mayweather is to keep that “zero” on his record until the day he quits boxing and claim to be the greatest ever.
More than a couple of times over the last three years, the world had hoped for the superfight to happen, but on each occasion issues came up.
Pacquiao already offered the solution. He agreed on a smaller share of the purse (45/55) and is now willing to undergo the random drug tests Mayweather wanted.
The defamation case which Pacquiao filed against Mayweather has been dropped.
Still it won’t work, and a few days ago Mayweather said that Pacquiao is not even worth 45 percent of what could be a $200 million superfight.
“You have to realize this, in my opinion, Manny Pacquiao is desperate. He doesn’t make his own decisions because Manny Pacquiao has a boss, his promoter that makes his decisions.
“Once you take a loss and you’re on a decline… whether he got cheated or not, his stocks drop enormously after taking a loss. No matter how you took a loss, you took an L,” he told FightHype.com.
Mayweather accused the other side of faking their pay-per-view numbers.
“My fights? They’re putting the official numbers out there. HBO always puts the official numbers out there, right? They don’t show his numbers at all. Come on, man. Those are fake numbers.”
But Pacquiao wouldn’t hear any of it because if Mayweather wanted to fight him they would have fought three times by now.
“I told them I agree with 45 percent and he gets 55 percent. No problem with drug testing and any rule he wants to apply – Just to make the fight happen,” he told USA Today.
“If the fight doesn’t happen it’s not my fault. (But) I’m not going to accuse him as greedy or judge him. It’s hard to judge. That’s his style that’s his own life,” Pacquiao said.
He added that it’s all up to Mayweather to make the fight the world wants to see or the fight the world wanted to see.
Both boxers are not getting any younger and are slowly slipping past their prime if they haven’t yet, and the public interest may no longer be as high as it was two or three years ago.
“I don’t know that question is for Floyd. If the fight does not happen in 2013 there’s a big chance it will not happen anymore. He offered me $40 million,” said Pacquiao. Then he laughs. “He thinks I’m a bum boxer. But I’m not angry I’m not disappointed. We can’t do anything that’s his decision. We can’t do anything with his attitude,” said Pacquiao.
It’s really up to Mayweather.
